Material Handler / Backup Bulk Truck Unloader – 3rd Shift Warehouse, Erlanger, KY
Performs functions directed towards successfully and efficiently meeting packaging goals for customer orders by supplying materials and ready-to-package products to the packaging lines and finished goods to the warehouse. Performs bulk truck unloader functions when coverage is needed.
Essential Job Functions:
This position reports on 3rd shift, however, it must be willing and available to work other shifts as assigned. Schedule flexibility and availability to work weekends and OT as scheduled by the shift supervisor. Operate Forklift to move product from Production to Packaging and from Packaging to Warehouse.Supply empty pallets and materials to pack lines as needed to keep packing lines operating.Required to assist in stacking at the end of the line as needed by loading boxes/bags onto a pallet. Requires lifting up to 25 – 55 lbs. continuously.Required to assist in dumping products at the deck as needed. Requires pushing/pulling 100+ lbs.Required to assist as packer operator and completes paperwork as needed.Must maintain the integrity of raw materials and assists in inventory and cycle counts.Keeps area and equipment clean; follows LOTO procedures when cleaning equipment.Willing to work outside the majority of the day; and must not be afraid of heights.Receive paperwork on the incoming product from the Truck Driver.Break the seal and take the sample to the lab for product verification. Hook the truck up to unload the product through the sifter house into the correct silo.Other duties as assigned by the shift supervisor and Warehouse Manager.Qualifications/Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of 1-3 years of warehouse experience within a food manufacturing or similar warehouse setting. Ability to comfortably operate standard warehouse equipment, including proficient operation of stand-up forklift and load move system. Responsible for performing functions directed towards maintaining an interior and exterior sanitary and safe facility.
REPRESENTATIVE FUNCTIONS:
Recycles and Waste (65% of Time)
1. Conduct recycling operations. Bales cardboard and plastics accumulated from production activities and maintain records disposal activities.
2. Assures food waste is properly disposed and maintains records of recycling activities.
Assist with waste and recycle exchange operations
3. Assures trash containers are emptied into appropriate waste bins
Cleaning (30% of Time)
4. Maintains the cleanliness of the exterior grounds which includes parking lots, trash docks, break areas, side walks, and natural grounds that surround the facility. Cleaning activities includes trash removal, sweeping, wash downs and disposal of waste container contents.
5. Maintains the cleanliness of non-production areas that include Bale room, Warehouse perimeters, office areas, lab areas, locker rooms, break rooms, restrooms and storage areas. Cleaning activities include sweeping, mopping, trash removal, painting and other duties as assigned.
6. Assists with the Inspection and sanitation of the roof.
7. Maintains cleanliness and stenciling of waste modules, totes and cans.
8. Maintains sanitation of drains throughout the facility
9. Maintains cleanliness of plastic pallets
Pest and Inventory Control (5% of Time)
10. Inspects, clean and maintain functionality and identification of rodent control devices and maintain records of rodent control device activities
11. Takes inventory of cleaning and pest control supplies and submit stock lows for replenishment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Follow written and verbal instructions provided via hard copy, discussion and other mediums
2. Follow attendance policy and guidelines with flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
3. Communicate professionally and appropriately via hard copy and verbal discussion. Pass-down information to team member, supervisor and Manager as needed.
Complete assigned duties and responsibilities per instructions, policy and procedures with minimal supervision
Complete all logs and records in compliance with procedures, policies and instructions for documentation compliance
6. Work in a Team environment and share results of any issues with immediate Supervisors and Manager in a timely manner.
7. Know and apply LOTO and the ergonomics of every step in the process to avoid injury while performing duties.
Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices, Sanitary practices and Safety procedures
Operate forklifts safely
Performs other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Manager, Plant manager, Quality Control Supervisor and designee
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Must successfully complete all on- the- job training. Must attend HACCP, Safety, chemical training and other training sessions and successfully pass session quizzes (YEARLY REFRESHER REQUIRED).
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, and instructions/manuals.
Ability to receive thorough instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors, managers and other employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
