  • Summary: NMSU-Alamogordo is seeking a full-time security officer. Classification Summary:Under general supervision, responsible for protecting organization premises and property. On a routine basis, inspects grounds to ensure security requirements are met. May be required to enforce parking regulations and report fire and safety hazards. Reports atypical situations to management. May use electronic surveillance equipment. Requires the ability to react quickly in sensitive situations. Frequently reports to a security supervisor or a security manager. Classification Standard Duties:Escort individuals to/from campus locations when no indication of potential violence. Collaborate Scholarship coordinator to recruit applicants for other scholarship opportunities. Seek out additional financial aid resources for students (i.e. corporate grants, scholarships, etc.) In coordination with Student Services and advisors, will review the current Placement Assessment and determine effectiveness based on successful completion rates in developmental programs. In coordination with Student Services representatives and faculty implement Placement Assessment within the on-boarding and recruiting process for first year students. Create a sustainability plan for the Placement Assessment to be sustained. Identify and connect with Hispanic students who are in their first year at NMSU-A.
