Responsibilities
Prioritize requests for sample collection based on urgencyCollect patients’ personal informationDetermine the correct venipuncture method for each patientProvide patients with reassurance during the collection processUse sterilized needles, vials, and other equipment to draw bloodCorrectly label samples and send them for testingQualifications
Previous experience as a Phlebotomist or Phlebotomy TechnicianPhlebotomy diploma preferredKnowledge of best practices in patient identification methodsFamiliarity with the legal requirements regarding blood draws and fluid samplesStrong computer and data entry skills
