  • About the PositionAs a senior level Electrical System Studies Engineer in the System Studies group, you will be responsible for performing electrical power system modeling and analysis primarily for renewable facilities that encompass support of the solar power generation and substation design teams. You will be providing the client with a quality deliverable that is on time and within budget while guiding other Team Members through the process.
    Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 / yearThe salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market. This opportunity is available to both local / in-office (Lakewood, CO) and full-time remote candidates.
    Essential ResponsibilitiesConducts electrical studies primarily for renewable facilities that encompass more of a system aspect in support of the solar and substation design teams Creates and develops studies and reports including but not limited to short circuit, reactive power/load flow, arc flash, dynamic, transient, harmonic (pre & post), compliance, ampacity, grounding, as well as other related studies and calculationsConduct review and QA/QC for electrical studies in support of design teamsProvide regulatory compliance services for al project design phases from conceptual design through project testing and commissionEstablish study templates, methodologies, and best practices for electrical system studies Serve as SME’s for study software related questions and troubleshootingSecondary responsibilities may include checking and/or performing detailed design of allaspects of electrical power systems to include one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams,control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, conduit, and cablesizing/routing, grounding design, writing of equipment specifications, project andconstruction cost estimates, and project schedulingPrepares a variety of documents and reports associated with projects includingproposals cost estimates, and budget reportsAssists with Client contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments andmeetingsMay occasionally assist with performing equipment, control system, communications,troubleshooting, and relay field testing and start-up and commissioning servicesMaintains a strong understanding and applications of applicable Codes and StandardsMaintains strong and responsive Company-Client relationshipsMaintains high ethical and professional standardsAttends conferences, training workshops, seminars, regular undergraduate, andgraduate classes as appropriate for advancement and as required to maintain quality ofwork.Attends safety training and follow safety rules and guidelinesOther job-related responsibilities as assigned
    Must HaveEducation: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferredExperience: 5+ years of relevant engineering or field experienceLicensure: FE is required, PE is preferredProficiency in power system modeling software such as:Steady State software: (PowerFactory; ETAP; SKM Power Tools; Easypower; Aspen; Windmil)System Protection & Arc Flash software: (CAPE, Aspen, ETAP; Power Factory; SKM Power Tools; Easy Power)Grounding software: (CDEGS; WinIGS)Interconnection & Dynamic Modeling: (PSSe, PSLF)Cable Ampacity software: (Cymcap) Transient Studies software: (PSCAD)Possesses effective written and oral communications skillGood interpersonal and people skillsApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

  • About the PositionThe Compensation & Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing and administering NEI’s benefits and compensation programs. This role involves ensuring that NEI’s compensation structures are competitive and compliant with legal requirements, as well as designing and implementing benefits programs that attract and retain top talent.

    Essential ResponsibilitiesCompensation Management:Develop and maintain competitive compensation structures that align with NEI’s compensation strategy.Evaluate salary surveys and benchmarking to ensure market competitiveness.Ensure compliance with all compensation-related regulations and laws.Benefits Administration:Provide recommendations for benefit program design in alignment with NEI’s strategy.Implement and manage benefits programs, including health insurance, leave of absence programs, and retirement plans.Communicate benefits information to team members and assist with enrollment processes.Partner with People Services leaders to evaluate and negotiate with benefits providers to ensure cost-effective and comprehensive coverage.Handle team member inquiries and resolve issues related to benefits.Maintain benefits plans and literature in HRIS and NEI intranet.Accurately reconcile benefit invoices and team member paycheck contributions, resolving errors.Data Analysis and Reporting:Analyze compensation and benefits data to identify trends and make recommendations.Prepare reports and presentations for senior management.Monitor and report on the effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs.Compliance and Policy Development:Ensure all compensation and benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations.Develop and update compensation and benefits policies and procedures.Stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
    Must HaveExperience: 5+ years' experience in compensation & benefits; 3+ years specializing in compensation & benefits.Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.Certification: CCP, CBP, SHRM-CP, PHR, preferred but not required.Professional, articulate, and able to exercise good independent judgment and discretionDemonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle, delegate, and prioritize multiple competing tasks and effectively manage deadlines.Expert in Excel.Highly organized, motivated self-starter.Proven record of delivering a high standard of quality work with exceptional attention to detail.Comfortable working with ambiguity and creating systems and plans where there are none.Flexible and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment with a quickly growing team.Proficiency in HRIS and compensation management software.Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, ERISA).Must have a comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws.Must have a positive, “can do” attitude.A strong written and verbal command of the English language.Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
