    Job DescriptionJob Description

ND Defense designs, builds, and manufactures an array of military and commercial products including tactical wheeled vehicles, heavy trucks, and products for multiple other verticals. As our Steering System Engineer, you will work on a wide variety of vehicles across multiple programs.

This is a role for someone who is energized by variety rather than worn down by it. Priorities shift, programs compete for attention, and the ability to pivot without losing momentum on the projects already underway is what makes this job work.

    What You'll Do

Design, integrate, and validate steering systems across drive-by-wire conversions and new-vehicle programs, from EPS and hydraulic assist to steer-by-wire actuation.Balance multiple steering programs and competing priorities at once, adjusting focus as the business needs shift.Solve handling, durability, and integration challenges creatively; there is not always a precedent to follow.Help build out steering engineering processes and standards that are still taking shape; this is a role for someone energized by figuring it out, not frustrated by it.Support prototype builds and on-vehicle validation, including hands-on troubleshooting on the shop floor.Bring enthusiasm for AI tools and automation to streamline analysis and documentation.

    You'll Thrive Here If You...

Like carrying a wide variety of steering and chassis projects at once, and can pivot quickly when priorities shift.Enjoy creative problem-solving and look forward to a tough handling or integration challenge rather than around it.Are driven, flexible, and adapt well to a fast-paced, demanding pace of work. Are comfortable working within processes and standards that are still being built or refined, and want to help shape them rather than wait for them to be finished. Are okay with some unknowns and ambiguity, and would rather be part of finding the solution than have every answer handed to you.Get excited about AI tools and look for cutting-edge ways to use them to work smarter.Bring a positive, team-oriented attitude to the table, even when the day gets demanding.

    What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related discipline.3+ years of experience in steering system design or vehicle chassis/suspension engineering.Working knowledge of steering system principles: hydraulic assist, EPS, column design, and steering geometry.Comfortable reviewing and interpreting 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings (e.g., Creo, NX, CATIA) to support fast, sound engineering decisions.Genuine interest in using AI tools to work smarter; not required on day one, but it will make you stand out.Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.62): a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual.

    Job DescriptionJob Description

    About ND Defense

ND Defense LLC is an ITAR-registered defense contractor headquartered in Madison Heights, Michigan, with manufacturing operations in West Point, Mississippi. We specialize in tactical wheeled vehicles — MRAPs, MaxxPros, and SOTVs — and are actively expanding into maritime, aerospace, electronics, medical devices, energy, and chemical distribution. With international operations spanning Abu Dhabi, Poland, MENA, and Latin America, we are growing rapidly and building the operational infrastructure to match.

This is a company where your work will be seen, your impact will be measurable, and your ability to grow with the organization is real.

    Role Summry

We are looking for an experienced Infor ERP professional to take ownership of our ERP environment — stabilizing the system, closing configuration gaps, driving adoption across departments, and serving as our internal expert and trainer. This is a hands-on technical role with direct organizational impact.

Infor is your primary mission. Over time, as the ERP environment matures, you will also lead the evaluation and deployment of AI-powered automation tools — particularly those that integrate with or extend the Infor platform — helping us operate more efficiently as we scale.

    What You Will Do

Primary — Infor ERP Administration & Optimization

Serve as the primary internal administrator for the Infor ERP system, owning configuration, user access, module settings, and system healthConduct a systematic assessment of current Infor utilization across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and HR; identify gaps between what the system can do and how it is currently usedDrive configuration improvements and build out underutilized modules to better support business operationsDevelop and deliver hands-on training programs for end users across both sites (Madison Heights and West Point); build reference materials, SOPs, and quick-reference guides tailored to each department's workflowsEstablish and maintain data integrity standards — clean master data, consistent item masters, accurate BOMs, and reliable reportingTroubleshoot system issues and coordinate with Infor support when escalation is needed; reduce dependence on external consulting over timeBuild integrations and data flows between Infor and adjacent systems (MES, compliance tools, HR platforms, reporting tools)Maintain system documentation including configuration logs, process maps, and user guidesServe as the point of contact for ERP-related questions, issues, and enhancement requests from across the organizationPartner with department heads to understand operational workflows and translate business needs into ERP solutions

Secondary — AI Systems & Process Automation

As our Infor environment stabilizes, you will take on an expanding role in AI-enabled process automation:

Evaluate AI tools and agentic workflow platforms — particularly those designed to extend or integrate with Infor — for applicability to ND Defense operationsIdentify high-value automation opportunities in finance, supply chain, procurement, HR, and compliance; build a prioritized roadmapPilot and deploy automation solutions in coordination with department stakeholders; measure and report on outcomesStay current on Infor's own AI roadmap (Infor Industry AI Agents, GenAI Assistant, Agentic Orchestrator) and advise leadership on adoption timing and approachBuild internal capability — document automation deployments so the organization understands and can maintain what has been built

    What We Are Looking For

    Required

5 or more years of hands-on Infor LN ERP experience in an administrative, analyst, or implementation roleDemonstrated ability to configure Infor modules, manage user access, maintain data integrity, and support end usersExperience training non-technical users on ERP workflows — patience, clear communication, and the ability to meet people where they areStrong analytical skills; ability to diagnose ERP gaps and propose practical solutionsManufacturing or defense/government contracting industry backgroundAbility to work on-site in Madison Heights, MI

    Strongly Preferred

Experience with Infor LN implementations or re-implementations — not just steady-state supportFamiliarity with Infor LN’s AI and automation roadmap, including Infor Industry AI Agents or the GenAI AssistantExposure to agentic AI concepts, workflow automation tools, or integration platforms (iPaaS, LangChain, etc.)Experience in a DCAA-compliant or ITAR-regulated environmentPrior work at or with an Infor implementation partnerInfor certification in one or more modules

    Who Thrives in This Role

You are someone who gets genuine satisfaction from making a system work the way it should. You understand that ERP success is as much about people and process as it is about configuration. You can walk a shop floor supervisor through a purchasing workflow in the morning and troubleshoot a data mapping issue in the afternoon. You are organized, proactive about documentation, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift. You do not wait to be told what to fix — you find it, flag it, and propose a solution.

We are a mid-size company in an active growth phase — which means less bureaucracy, more direct access to decision-makers, and a real opportunity to shape how the organization operates. If you have spent years in large enterprise environments waiting for approvals, this will feel different.
