    Position Summary: The Summer Maintenance position will perform a variety of basic repairs and maintenance work using hand tools and equipment. Duties include mowing and trimming, landscaping, painting and assisting full-time maintenance staff with minor carpentry/repair work.

    FULL TIME/PART TIME: Part-Time, less than 20 hours/week

    LOCATION: Trenton, Missouri-Main Campus


    Essential Functions: Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to

    · Cut grass, trim and edge around walkways, flower beds, and walls.

    · Prune shrubs and trees. Remove damaged branches. Rake leaves, pick up debris and twigs.

    · Plant grass, flowers, trees and shrubs.

    · Assist with basic maintenance tasks, such as minor carpentry, flooring, etc.

    · Distributes freight and boxed items throughout campus.

    · Paint interior and exterior of buildings.

    Requirements:

    Education: High school diploma/GED, preferred. Must hold a valid driver’s license.


    Experience: Prefer an individual with some knowledge and experience in the following areas: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and landscaping.


    Skills: General maintenance and lawn care skills. Ability to operate maintenance and lawn care equipment and vehicles. Ability to work with hand and power tools.


    Physical Demands: Lift and move up to 75 lbs., remain stationary for extended periods of time while performing duties, moving about between buildings on the NCMC campus, ascending and descending stairs, reaching, pulling, and pushing equipment, able to do repetitive tasks, bending, stooping, reaching overhead, and climbing a ladder.


    Environmental Demands: Working in outdoor conditions with weather fluctuations. Frequent fluctuations between moving indoors and outdoors on tile, carpet, hardwoods, concrete, or blacktop with uneven surfaces.

    Position Summary: Professional tutors facilitate student academic skill development. This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Tutors coordinate learning and provide one-to-one and small group tutoring within the Tutoring Center. Tutors will work with students to assess their learning needs, set short-term goals for the session, long-term goals for academic development, and assist them in reaching those goals.     SHIFT: 2:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. (hours may adjust in summer months)


    Essential Functions: Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to

    · Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, baseboards, trim, and walls.

    · Clean areas which may include: class rooms, dorm rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, gym walls, break room kitchens and others as assigned.

    · Sweep, scrub, strip, paint, wax, and polish floors.

    · Vacuum and clean carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, and draperies.

    · Dust and move furniture and equipment.

    · Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and window sills.

    · Empty trash cans, paper shredders, and transport trash to disposal areas.

    · Replenish bathroom supplies and replace light bulbs in work areas, when necessary.

    · Cut and trim grass; shovel snow.

    · Transport small equipment or tools between departments.

    · Set up tables and chairs.

    · Carry cleaning supplies.

    · Follow proper safety procedures and perform hazardous materials cleanup.

    · Ability to work with the following cleaning chemicals: strippers, finish waxes, ammonia, bleach, and other cleaners.

    · Monitor use of supplies and make purchase requests to Lead Custodian.

    · Work as a team with fellow custodians to get the job done.

    · Work flexible work hours as the need arises to include split shifts.

    · Be able to complete work assignments in an unsupervised environment.

    · Perform opening and closing facility duties when necessary.

    Skills: Proficient at operating floor buffers, floor keepers, and other industrial types of janitorial equipment.


    Physical Demands: Move up to a 50lb. maximum; remain stationary for extended periods of time while cleaning; moving about between buildings on the NCMC campus; ascending and descending stairs; reaching, pulling, and pushing industrial equipment; able to do repetitive tasks
