Nargi Landscaping is seeking an experienced Softscape / Plant Install Crew Leader to lead landscape planting projects throughout the Hudson Valley. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, enjoys working outdoors, and can lead a crew while delivering exceptional results for our clients.
Position Summary
The Softscape / Plant Install Crew Leader is responsible for managing and executing landscape planting projects from start to finish. This includes reading plans, laying out plant material, overseeing installation quality, coordinating materials and equipment, and ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget.
Our goal is simple: deliver clean, profitable installations that match the sold scope and thrive for years to come.
Responsibilities
Project Execution
Read and interpret work orders, planting plans, and design layoutsLayout plant material accurately according to plansLead installation of trees, shrubs, perennials, and other landscape materialsEnsure proper planting depth, root flare exposure, soil preparation, staking, and watering practicesPerform client walkthroughs when neededJobsite Management
Coordinate materials, deliveries, trucking, and disposalEnsure all required tools and equipment are available on siteProtect existing lawns, driveways, and landscape featuresUtilize turf protection and damage prevention measuresMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentQuality Control
Verify plant spacing, grades, and installation quality throughout the projectConduct daily quality inspectionsComplete punch-list items before project completionTake closeout photos and document completed workProvide post-install care instructions when applicableDaily Responsibilities
Morning review of project plans and daily goalsConfirm plant quantities and layout prior to installationMonitor crew productivity and workmanship throughout the dayComplete end-of-day cleanup and site restorationSubmit project notes, photos, and follow-up itemsQualifications
Landscape installation experience requiredPrevious crew leadership experience preferredKnowledge of plant identification and planting practicesAbility to read landscape plans and layoutsStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditionsValid driver's license requiredAbility to operate landscape equipment and trucks preferredCompensation & Benefits
