    Medical Assistant Position North Atlanta Dermatology is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to support our Duluth, GA clinic. In this role, you'll support our provider with patient intake, procedures, and education, while helping ensure every patient receives compassionate, efficient care. If you're passionate about patient service and want to grow your skills in a supportive clinical environment, we'd love to hear from you. Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (1 hour lunch) This position is primarily based in Duluth; however, you may occasionally be asked to provide coverage at our Marietta office as needed. Mileage reimbursement is provided. Responsibilities Responsibilities include: Room patients and accurately document patient intake information. Obtain and record vital signs. Manage and support efficient patient flow throughout the clinic. Prepare procedure trays, instruments, and equipment according to provider instructions. Assist providers with in-office dermatology procedures. Prepare pathology and laboratory specimens and route them to the appropriate lab based on patient insurance requirements. Respond to patient questions in person and by phone, following provider and clinic guidelines. Review and address clinical task lists and nurse line messages in a timely manner. Clean, sterilize, calibrate, and maintain clinical equipment and instruments according to established schedules, ensuring proper documentation of maintenance. Monitor medication and supply levels, remove expired items, and maintain accurate records. Maintain infection control standards and ensure exam rooms, supply rooms, and cabinets are fully stocked. Order, receive, organize, restock, and inventory medical and office supplies. Accurately document patient information and scribe provider notes within the EMR system. Assist with the administration of local anesthetics as directed. Ensure phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental communications are handled promptly and appropriately. Maintain strict HIPAA compliance at all times. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Qualifications include: Ability to appropriately triage patient concerns and escalate to providers as needed. Working knowledge of and compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and Bloodborne Pathogen standards. Experience obtaining vital signs and preparing patients for appointments. Experience administering injections. Understanding of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-10 coding. Familiarity with office and basic billing or financial policies. Basic computer proficiency, including experience using electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, fax machines, copiers, and scanners. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in English. Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure clinical environment. Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with providers, staff, patients, and visitors. Willingness and ability to travel to satellite locations as needed. Strong multitasking, organization, and prioritization skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Ability to read, understand, and follow both written and verbal instructions. Ability to accurately spell, organize, sort, and file information alphabetically and numerically. Licensure/Certifications/Education Education and Experience include: High school diploma or GED required. Completion of a Medical Assistant program (CMA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, or a bachelor's degree in a pre-med or pre-PA track preferred. CPR certification preferred. 1-2 years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant, CNA, or in another clinical patient care role preferred. Prior experience in dermatology is preferred. Physical Requirements Physical requirements include: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to perform moderate amounts of talking, bending, twisting, reaching, and balancing. Frequent use of hands and fingers for clinical and administrative tasks. Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone. Ability to handle materials such as paper, medical supplies, and equipment. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Potential exposure to infectious organisms, chemicals, and sharp instruments.
