    Mountain MiniSplits is not your typical HVAC company. We are a specialty firm focused on installing and servicing ductless mini split systems for our clients. We’ve installed in garages, sheds, 3rd stories, sunrooms, whole house systems and businesses. We specialize exclusively in Mitsubishi ductless mini split heat pump systems.     We're looking for the leader of our field operations.

    As we continue to grow Mountain MiniSplits, we're looking to add a highly skilled technician who wants more in their career path than only installing equipment. We're looking for someone that wants to continually grow and evolve along with the company. This role is responsible for everything that happens after a customer says "yes." From planning and preparation to installation, quality control, team development, and customer satisfaction. You'll own the production side of our business and help build one of the best installation teams in Virginia. This is a high impact role in which you will work directly with the owner to elevate the business to the next level.

    This is a leadership position that still lets you get your hands dirty and maintain your craft.

    You'll spend approximately 60% of your time leading installations and/or service work in the field and 40% planning jobs, coaching your team, improving systems, and driving operational excellence.     What You'll Own - Primary Responsibilities

    Once a project is sold, it becomes your responsibility. You'll own every aspect of delivering an exceptional installation and customer experience in the field. Simply put: You own production.

    HVAC Lead Installer (60%)

    Be the organization’s leading expert regarding equipment knowledge, installation processes/procedures and continually pursue installation best practicesStay up to date on the latest equipment and materials as the industry continues to evolve bringing that knowledge and recommendations to leadershipPerforming 2-3 installations, service work, and/or deep cleanings each week alongside your team.Lead installation crews on residential and light commercial ductless mini split projectsInstall and service Mitsubishi ductless mini split systems including connections to disconnect, running line sets/covers, vacuuming down line sets, pressure testing the system to fully commission the systemMaintain exceptional workmanship standardsEnsure safety, cleanliness and organization on every jobsiteSolving field challenges before they become customer problemsWalk customers through the operation of the system & remote controlCommunicate proactively with homeowners throughout the installation creating a top level customer experience throughout the full customer journeyProfessionally represent the company at all times

    Operations & Field Leadership (40%)

    Work with company leadership to implement a system with repeatable processes and steps to ensure quality and efficiency. Refine and implement installation standards and best practicesYou understand the business of HVAC and how to take an operation to the next levelMentor, coach and hold team members accountable through the implementation of regular performance reviews with the technician teamBuild a culture of ownership, professionalism, and continuous improvementProduce weekly reports tracking project and business KPIsReview every sold job before installation to plan manpower, materials, schedule and logistics in partnership with the Business CoordinatorPartner with Business Coordinator to properly manage material inventory and equipment needsApproximately 3-4 days in the field and 1-2 in the officeShowing up everyday with a great attitude and ready to lead a team of techniciansExcellent communication skills ensuring information flows freely between the field and the front office at all timesLeading, developing and growing our installation and service teamEnsuring every installation meets Mountain MiniSplits' quality standards through final quality inspectionsEnsuring projects finish safely, efficiently, profitably, and on schedule

    4-6 years of strong residential HVAC installation experience with knowledge of Mitsubishi ductless mini split systemsHas an understanding of system design, proper equipment sizing practices and the ability to execute high quality installations and system maintenanceEPA 608 Certification (or the ability to obtain within 30 days)Strong organizational and communication skillsValid driver's license with a clean driving record and a vehicle to get to and from workAbility to lead and develop techniciansAbility to lift 75 pounds and perform field workComfort working on ladders and in hot/cold environments

    Preferred:

    Previous experience leading installation crewsExperience working with Mitsubishi Electric equipmentJourneyman HVAC LicenseNATE CertificationVirginia Master HVAC License

    or

    Ability and desire to obtain a Virginia Master HVAC License within the next 12 months
