Manage the implementation of victim services programming across the state or within a specified service area. Recruit, train, develop and manage assigned victim services employees and volunteers. This is a remote position, where the candidate must reside in Northern Illinois. The salary for this position is $65,500.
Essential Functions:
Provide supervision, technical assistance, mentoring and training to both paid victim services employees (must supervise at least two (2) Victim Services employees) and victim services volunteers, which includes the development of work plans, problem solving and the provision of guidance on issues that arise from working with victims of drunk driving. Review victim services staff and volunteer level of service and performance, taking appropriate steps to facilitate corrections or changes. May author, manage and/or monitor VOCA grant proposals and active grants including reporting to the MADD Mission Support Center. Support regional fundraising and development efforts through donor stewardship, sponsorship outreach, community engagement, and relationship-building initiatives designed to advance the organization’s mission and achieve annual revenue goals.Plan, coordinate, and assist in the execution of regional fundraising events and community outreach activities, including volunteer engagement, event logistics, partnership cultivation, and participant support.Serve as a regional representative of the organization by building and maintaining meaningful relationships with donors, community partners, volunteers, and stakeholders while supporting both victim services initiatives and regional development objectives.Identify and coordinate contacts with state resources available to victims such as contacts in the criminal justice system, social welfare agencies, and support groups. Read LessResponsible for maintaining a caseload of victims of alcohol and drugged driving who are in need of short-term crisis intervention, emotional support, grief support groups, and appropriate referral sources for continued long-term needs. Provide court accompaniment and guidance with legal, financial, and medical systems. Work in conjunction with other Victim Services employees to provide consultation and support to victims where needed. Previous victim services/advocacy work with victims of impaired driving crashes is preferred.
This is a hybrid position in which the selected candidate must reside in the Phoenix, Arizona or surrounding area. The salary for this position is $45,000.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Utilizing independent judgment, conduct individual needs assessments on victims/survivors of alcohol and drugged driving crashes for emotional support, information, and referrals, implementing beneficial interventions based upon those assessments.Maintain current assessment of victim’s coping and need for further referrals.Based upon assessment, create and implement a tailored case management action plan for victims, which may include grief support assistance, crisis intervention, referrals for long-term counseling issues and other basic needs, as well as support group facilitation.May accompany victims/survivors to justice proceedings as appropriate. Provide advocacy by assisting in the protection and exertion of victims/survivor's rights and educating others about the criminal and civil justice systems.Conduct community needs assessments and analyzes results to determine the development, facilitation, and implementation of appropriate victim services, programs and events.Based upon results of community needs assessments, create and implement effective outreach strategies to reach victims and survivors of drunk and drugged driving crashes who may not otherwise be aware of MADD Victim Services.Utilizing analysis of community needs assessment, establish and utilize a network of key individuals in the legal, medical, and social service systems to facilitate assistance for victims/survivors. Collect and maintain community resource information to share with victims and other Victim Services employees.Recruit, screen, train, deploy, and recognize volunteers who provide assistance in meeting Victim Service initiatives.This position will also have a small fundraising goal to support MADD Kansas and will cultivate partnerships with businesses/corporations to secure monetary and in-kind sponsorships and donations.Maintain accurate case records, statistical information and grant reports for each victim case according to MADD and grant standards and guidelines. May be responsible for grant writing and reporting to grantor and MADD.Other duties as assigned.POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree is required in a human services field of study (i.e. social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice) with a minimum of one year of experience in victim advocacy (specifically case management) OR grief support work (specifically bereaved individuals due to death)Bilingual (Spanish) is highly preferredEquivalent experience that includes experience in victim advocacy (specifically case management) and/or grief support work (specifically bereaved individuals due to death).
