    Guidance, Navigation, & Controls Engineer

    Spacecraft Flight Control Systems

    On-site in El Segundo, CA

     

    We are hiring a Guidance, Navigation & Controls (GNC) Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and delivery of spacecraft Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) subsystems for advanced satellite and space programs. This role involves GNC analysis, Flight Control Software (FCSW) development, spacecraft integration and test (I&T), control system design, sensor and actuator selection, and technical leadership while supporting mission-critical aerospace and national security programs requiring a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.

    Responsibilities:

    Lead delivery of the complete Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) subsystem, including hardware, software, algorithms, and analytical products for satellite programs.Serve as the Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for one or more spacecraft programs or as the GNC technical focal across multiple programs.Perform spacecraft GNC subsystem design, modeling, analysis, Flight Control Software (FCSW) development, and verification activities.Develop control algorithms and evaluate system performance to ensure compliance with mission and spacecraft requirements.Select and integrate spacecraft sensors and actuators to support mission objectives.Manage GNC subsystem execution within program cost, schedule, and technical performance objectives.Identify technical risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate execution status to program leadership.Collaborate with Systems Engineering, software, hardware, manufacturing, integration & test (I&T), and program management teams to ensure system-level performance.Support satellite integration, environmental testing, launch preparation, and on-orbit mission operations.Lead, mentor, and provide technical direction to GNC engineering teams by decomposing complex technical efforts into executable work packages.Support mission architecture, system design reviews, verification planning, and lifecycle engineering activities.

     

    Qualifications:

    US Citizenship required by Federal Law.Ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance after hire.Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum 3+ years of Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) engineering experience.Minimum 1+ year of spacecraft or satellite system-level engineering experience.Minimum 1+ year collaborating with cross-functional engineering organizations and program leadership.Experience with spacecraft Guidance, Navigation & Control fundamentals.Experience performing spacecraft GNC analysis, subsystem design, software development, verification, and systems integration.Experience working across multidisciplinary aerospace engineering teams throughout the program lifecycle.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree with 9+ years of related engineering experience (Level 4).Active TS/SCI security clearance.Experience supporting satellite Integration & Test (I&T) and on-orbit mission operations.Advanced knowledge of spacecraft kinematics, dynamics, classical control theory, and modern control systems.Experience performing complex GNC analyses using commercial or internally developed engineering tools.Experience developing Flight Control Software (FCSW) and spacecraft control algorithms.Experience leading technical teams and serving as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA).Demonstrated ability to decompose complex engineering efforts into executable technical tasks.Experience with project execution, cost and schedule management, and technical risk management.Experience establishing engineering processes, technical standards, and best practices.Proven mentoring and technical leadership experience.Experience with spacecraft architecture development, system integration, trade studies, and mission analysis.

    We are hiring an NDT Quality Test Specialist to perform and oversee nondestructive testing (NDT) inspections on aerospace components and systems using industry-standard methods including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT). This role requires NAS410/BSS7698 Level II certification, expertise in aerospace quality assurance, inspection procedures, defect evaluation, and compliance with aerospace manufacturing and regulatory standards.

    Responsibilities:

    Perform and oversee nondestructive testing (NDT) inspections in accordance with NAS410, BSS7698, customer specifications, and aerospace quality requirementsSet up, standardize, calibrate, and operate NDT equipment while conducting system performance checksPerform inspections using certified NDT methods, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)Interpret inspection results and evaluate components for acceptance, rejection, or further investigationDocument inspection results, test data, and quality records in accordance with company and regulatory requirementsAssist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of NDT procedures and work instructionsConduct system performance checks and verification activities in accordance with applicable process standardsEnsure compliance with applicable aerospace codes, standards, customer requirements, and contractual specificationsProvide technical guidance, mentoring, and supervision to trainees and Level I NDT personnelMaintain and inspect NDT equipment, ensuring calibration, reliability, and operational readiness

    Electronics Rework Technician

    We are hiring an Electronics Rework Technician to perform component-level circuit card assembly (CCA) repair, soldering, modification, and testing in support of defense and aerospace electronic systems. This role requires expertise in IPC J-STD-001, DoD and NASA soldering standards, PCB rework, electronics troubleshooting, schematics, AOI inspection, and component-level repair within a high-quality manufacturing environment.

     

    Responsibilities:

    Perform rapid repair, rework, and modification of circuit card assemblies (CCAs), electronic assemblies, and subassemblies.Execute simple and complex component-level soldering, desoldering, and repair activities in accordance with IPC and J-STD-001 requirements.Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, 2D/3D models, technical illustrations, and work instructions to complete assigned work.Perform component installation, replacement, adjustment, fit checks, fastener alignment, electrical connections, and subassembly integration.Document component-level nonconformances and completed repair activities using approved procedures and released technical documentation.Collect, document, and enter production data to support Statistical Process Control (SPC) and quality improvement initiatives.Inspect completed work to verify compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.Perform approved engineering changes, modifications, repairs, and rework on electrical, electronic, and mechanical assemblies.Utilize shop tools, soldering equipment, pneumatic tools, measuring instruments, and test equipment safely and effectively.Assist in defining work scope, implementing repair processes, and improving manufacturing and integration procedures.Recommend process improvements that enhance product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and repair effectiveness.Maintain CCA repair logs, charts, reports, records, and supporting documentation.Handle hazardous materials and waste in accordance with approved procedures, when qualified.Maintain required certifications, licenses, and training necessary to perform electronic rework activities.Perform additional duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications:

    US Citizenship requiredAbility to Obtain a Secret ClearanceHigh School Diploma or GED required.Ability to work any shift.5–7 years of experience performing electronic rework and repair using hand and pneumatic tools.Minimum 5 years of experience performing component-level soldering and electronic circuit board repair.Minimum 5 years of experience working to IPC J-STD-001 requirements.Minimum 3 years of experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) and NASA assembly soldering specifications.Experience assembling, repairing, modifying, and troubleshooting printed circuit boards (PCBs) and circuit card assemblies (CCAs).Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.Experience installing, replacing, soldering, and desoldering electronic components including integrated circuits, transistors, resistors, capacitors, relays, and other electronic devices.Experience performing Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and quality inspections.Basic computer proficiency, including file management, desktop navigation, printer connectivity, and system settings.Experience documenting manufacturing, repair, inspection, and quality records.Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail required.Experience working safely in a clean manufacturing environment while following established safety procedures.

    Preferred Qualifications:
