Job SummaryJoin a talented group of more than 75 dietitians at the University of Virginia Health System in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia. At this level one trauma center, dietitians play an integral role on multidisciplinary teams in many specialty areas, both in the 675 bed inpatient setting, as well as in over 35 outpatient clinics. RDs participate in research and quality improvement projects, host dietetic interns, and are supported in pursuing leadership and community service experiences. Continuing education opportunities are plentiful from within the accomplished nutrition team and from the health system which values ongoing training and education.

This pediatric RD will be skilled in providing nutrition assessment and medical nutrition therapy to the pediatric oncology patient, and will communicate with appropriate provider teams regarding intervention, education and follow up of patients. This full time position will join our inpatient and outpatient pediatric nutrition team, caring for oncology patients during admission and through clinic follow up. This role involves nutrition support. Obtaining CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician), CSP (Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition) or similar certification is strongly recommended within two years of hire
Key Responsibilities:
Provides medical nutrition therapy including nutrition assessment, diet modification, nutrition education, and intervention for the patient populationFollows all guidelines as outlined within the Company Diet Manual and the Clinical Nutrition Policies & Procedures ManualComplies with all regulatory standards to include federal, state, and accrediting agencies while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient rights policiesTrains and mentors patient services staff and interns as applicableParticipates in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs
Qualifications:

Job Summary
