    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionMoore OB/GYN is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Certified Medical Billing & Coding Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong OB/GYN coding knowledge, payer compliance expertise, and the ability to manage accounts receivable efficiently.

    Position: Certified Medical Biller/Coder
    Employment Type: Full-Time
    Location: Forestville – Maryland

    Key Responsibilities:

    Accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding (OB/GYN focus)

    Review and submission of claims (commercial, Medicaid MCOs MD/DC )

    Manage denials, appeals, and AR follow-up

    Verify patient eligibility and benefits

    Ensure compliance with payer policies (UHC, CareFirst, JHHP, MD/DC Medicaid, etc.)

    Work within EMR/PM system 

    Apply appropriate modifiers (25, 59, 51, etc.)

    Monitor payer updates and policy changes

    Qualifications:

    CPC, CCS, or equivalent certification (Required)

    Minimum 5 years medical billing/coding experience

    OB/GYN experience strongly preferred

    Knowledge of CMS-1500 claims

    Strong understanding of Medicaid and MCO billing guidelines

    Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

    Preferred Skills:

    Experience with ultrasound and preventive + problem visit coding

    Familiarity with AR workflow optimization

    Knowledge of Maryland/DC payer compliance

    OB/GYN Sonographer needed Full-Time

    Following established policies and procedures, performs and records ultrasound diagnostic tests:


    Pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound (GYN).Pelvic Doppler studies.OB ultrasound including first trimester, second and third trimester, Growth ultrasound, biophysical profile and DopplerSaline infusion sonogramPRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:


    1. According to established procedures, prepares examination area by ensuring cleanliness and supplies needed; ensures proper identification of the patient, escorts patient to the exam room and explains procedure to patient. Assists and monitors patient throughout the exam.

    2. Selects appropriate equipment and transducer setting and adjusts equipment controls by hand or manipulation of remote-control device according to specific orders and parts of body to be examined.

    3. Photographs visual image of organs shown on display modules. Records tests results, identify structures needed and files results of sonography.

    4. Discusses test results with physicians. Repeats process as necessary. Write reports to be signed by the physician.

    5. Ensures files and records are properly completed with all patient information.

    6. Performs a variety of related clerical tasks such as retrieving previous ultrasound images.

    7. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition and ensures same is properly supplied for diagnostic procedures. Ensures sterile packaged supplies are not damaged or outdated.

    8. Keeps current regarding developments, trends and techniques in ultrasound procedures, and equipment through appropriate technical journals or in-service and educational programs in order to maintain and enhance expertise.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


    1. RDMS certification is required, OB/GYN is preferred.

    2. Work requires the analytical ability to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.

    3. Work requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in order to comfort patients and their families as well as explain clinical, technical and diagnostic procedures. Must be able to enforce policies and regulations in difficult situations or performing other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill.
