Engineer - Project Manager
Modern Molding, Inc. is a fast-paced custom plastic injection molder that is looking for a Project Manager that can keep up with the rapidly evolving momentum of growth and ingenuity.
The primary role of a Project Manager will be to ensure that all new projects are handled in a timely, orderly, and efficient manner. As the main point of contact for the customer during the new product development process, a project manager should have excellent communication skills, the ability to think fast on one’s feet, and the tenacity to ensure that projects are completed on time. As the intermediary between our company the customer and suppliers, a Project Manager must ensure that all customers’ needs are met, while staying on top of many projects at once.
The ideal candidate would have a 4-year degree in Engineering, a working knowledge of Solidworks modeling software, the ability to think critically, be self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team environment. Knowledge and experience with plastic injection molding is a plus.
Responsibilities
· Manage projects from the receipt of a purchase order to customer approval and release for mass production
· Communicate effectively with customer on new part and tool designs, understand customer requirements and how they affect the project
· Keep customers informed on the process of a project to ensure delivery dates are met
· Work with internal Production, Quality and Tooling teams to develop a manufacturing process for new products that is efficient
· Manage customer requirements for part quality and documentation during new product development
· Work with estimating department to quote new tooling and modifications to existing tooling
· Support production of current products and manufacturing challenges
· Participate in design reviews with customers for new product development
· Collaborate with automation team on new processes and products
Desired Skills and Qualifications
· A minimum of 5 years injection molding experience or a bachelor’s degree in engineering
· Solidworks or other CAD software
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
· Self-motivated team player that can stay organized with multiple task
· Hands on experience in a manufacturing setting
· Willingness to help coach and educate others on project requirements

The Quality Control Technician plays a key role in contributing to our quality objectives working closely with our production staff to assure the mutual success of our team. If you like people and problem solving, you will love this job!
Key tasks include:
· Performs dimensional measurements of product and enters data into our SPC system
· Monitors SPC charts and run charts to assure process control
· Setups, modifies, and maintains data collection plans within our SPC system
· Confirms satisfactory completion of tool repairs
· Assists production to resolve quality issues and solve problems.
· Completes additional performance testing for certain products
· Files documentation and applies revision control

This full-time position focuses on building new plastic injection molds as well as modifying and repairing existing injection tooling. We are a privately held plastic injection molding company that has been in business for over forty years, and we are looking to expand our in-house Tooling Department.
Responsibilities
Build new plastic injection molds from technical blueprints and designs.Modify and repair existing plastic injection tools to meet production specifications.Set up and operate CNC machinery and traditional toolroom equipment.Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes for tooling components.Perform precision machining, grinding, and fitting of mold components.Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement corrective actions for mold repair.Maintain clean and organized tooling department work areas.Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize mold performance.Qualifications
Proven experience as a Toolmaker, Tooling Machinist, or Mold Maker.Strong background in plastic injection molding tooling maintenance and repair.Experience setting up and operating CNC machine tools.Proficiency with Mastercam or equivalent CAD CAM programming software is highly preferred.Experience operating EDM electrical discharge machining equipment is a plus.Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics.Strong mechanical aptitude and precision measurement skills using micrometers and calipers.High school diploma or equivalent, with technical schooling or apprenticeship preferred.Benefits
