    Job Description

    The Mission Critical Group team in Brookston, Indiana specializes in designing and building custom electrical switchgear and controls for a variety of applications. We engineer, build, and deploy specialized switchgear and control systems for the power generation industry. We are agile, fast-paced, and our goal is to provide our customers with clever, cost-effective products and solutions. 

    Under the direct supervision of the Shop Manager, the Assembly Technician performs wiring, assembly, and installation work on assigned switchgear at a basic level. The Assembly Technician will follow specific schedules and procedures including safety protocol, installation processes, and other instructions. 

    Job Responsibilities

    Proper utilization of all common, electrical, and carpentry shop tools Assembly of electrical sheet metal enclosures Computer literacy Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary or other assigned duties Qualifications

    Physical Requirements:

    Safety glasses and equipment for daily use. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn, and this can be obtained from the DVM Fastenal cabinet.Hand protection, either cut resistant gloves or Leather work gloves as appropriate.Hearing protection when required. Earmuffs assigned by safety office for fabrication area.Steel or Composite toe boots or shoes for daily use will be purchased by the Technician. Reimbursement may be requested for one pair once a year.Physical exertion may vary depending on position type. May be required to regularly stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, frequently stand or walk around the work area, and lift or move objects up to 50 lbs.Assembling may involve manipulating small parts and using hand tools. Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity are essential for this job. Comfortable with occasional repetitive motions.Must be able to follow instructions and stay alert to potential hazards on the shop floor.Must be able to access and navigate each department at the assigned facilities.Manufacturing facilities can be loud and have bright lights. Availability to travel, as needed, between MCG manufacturing facilities. Some travel will require overnight stays.

    Job Description

    The HSE Coordinator supports daily health, safety, and environmental operations by conducting inspections, maintaining compliance records, and assisting with training and incident documentation. This role helps identify and correct unsafe conditions, ensures required programs are executed consistently, and provides hands‑on support to employees, supervisors, and contractors. The technician maintains key safety documentation, tracks corrective actions, and verifies closure to strengthen overall site compliance. They also assist with onboarding, certification tracking, and routine audits of equipment, permits, and work areas. Through regular field presence and strong follow‑through, the HSE Coordinator plays a critical role in promoting a safe workplace and supporting the organization’s HSE objectives. 

    Second Shift: 2:30 pm to midnight, Monday through Friday.

    Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The Support Tech will be responsible for supporting the Blast and Brake Forming areas. This role will provide safe and timely movement, storage, and organization of materials throughout the production floor to support maximized efficiency and reduce downtime for machine operators. This role requires a safety-first mindset, with strict adherence to all safety protocols and a proactive approach to maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment. The Support Technician demonstrates strong ownership mentality, taking full responsibility for their work area, anticipating team needs, and contributing to continuous improvement and overall production flow. 

    Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:30pm to 12am | Occasional Saturdays 

    Accountabilities 

    Deliver raw materials and components to Blast and Brake forming operators as needed Remove finished or processed materials from workstations and relocate to the appropriate areas Transport work sections between staging areas and active workstations Organize and maintain staging areas with clear job number identification Clean and clear workstations of debris, preparing them for the next cycle or process Ability to read and understand work orders, production tags, labels, and basic schematics Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications

    Job Description

    The Production Department is responsible for the delivery of quality products in a timely manner to support our efforts to be a best-in-class manufacturer. The overall objective of the Wiring Technician position is to provide entry-level support for electrical assembly functions while learning wiring techniques to contribute to a team focused on achieving industry leading cycle time, delivering superior quality, and assisting in reducing per unit costs to drive operational success.     Accountabilities 

    Assemble, terminate, wire and install electrical components and devices into enclosures, per drawing packages and instructions defined by the Engineering Department to a sufficient level of proficiency with minimal errors under mentorship and guidance from senior team members or foremen. Install and mount electrical controls, panels, sensors, and components by reading and comprehending schematics or documents to efficiently build customized equipment to meet deadlines.    Perform daily tasks with safe and proper use of equipment and tools, including tape measures, crimpers, drills, hand power tools, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, tilt tables, and sawhorses. Interpret and apply basic electrical manufacturing knowledge and principles and read specifications to determine component parts, methods, and sequencing. Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized work area by complying with safety procedures, rules, quality standards and best practices, and relying on pre-established guidelines or directions from senior team members to perform tasks optimally. Assist with cleaning and packing finished products for shipping. Identify and report missing materials or production problems that may cause project delays or effect quality. Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications

    Required knowledge/Experience

    Job Description

    This role supports the assembly of copper bus required for electrical equipment. The overall objective of this position is to provide high quality craftsmanship when assembling copper bus and similar conductive material using best in class installation techniques in order to contribute to a team focused on achieving industry leading cycle time, delivering superior quality, and assisting in reducing per unit costs.     Accountabilities 

    Supervise and schedule staff on projects to meet quality standards and on-time shipment requirements.  Provide technical guidance and direct corrective actions of the Bus Assembly team by ensuring efficient installation of fabricated bus materials.  Prioritizes workflow and allocation of manpower resources for project scheduling and delivery by coordinating efforts through active collaboration with the Production Manager, Engineering Department, and other Manufacturing team members. Train personnel in all areas of shop bus assembly and installation, while providing expertise to Field Service Technicians on the floor or on-site for optimal client responsiveness and feedback capabilities.  Provide positive reinforcement, constructive feedback, coaching, and mentorship to team members and provide recommendations for promotions and terminations to the Production Manager.  Ensure a safe workplace for all personnel and visitors to the Manufacturing floor through strict adherence to safety standards as well as OSHA and EPA requirements Qualifications

    Required Knowledge / Experience 

    5+ years of experience in bus assembly and installation. 3+ years of experience supervising a team of 5 or more in a manufacturing environment Intrapersonal Skills: Self-motivated and able to identify, examine, and resolve issues independently from others. Hold a strong regard for guidelines, procedures, and integrity. Engineering and Technology: Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Design: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.     Support the effort to be a best-in-class manufacturer through the fabrication of high-quality products that exceed our clients’ expectations by operating either the Punch Press or Break Press machines to cut holes or bend materials as needed for the fabrication of our products. This includes the following: Retrieving the punch list, parts list, and applicable CNC programs to create parts as needed per job.  Locating and moving or pulling raw sheet metal material as described by the parts list per job. Loading materials onto the machine in preparation for punch or break and safely securing materials on the machine with the use of clamps, fingers or other fixtures. Selecting die clearance, punches, tools, or other attachments needed to complete projects based on the specifications of the materials; Install and align them as needed to ensure optimal performance.  Coordinating with other CNC Operators to enter commands or adjust machine controls to correct errors, especially while operating the break press.  Monitoring machines and control panel displays to ensure machines are operating correctly.  Using tools, such as calipers and protractors, to measure finished products to ensure they meet requirements.  Staging parts as completed to prepare for the next phase of fabrication.  Maintaining a safe, clean, well-organized work area.  Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required. Training with the Bus CNC Foremen to develop the skills and learn how to operate both machines.  Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

    Accountabilities

This position requires standing for extended periods, working around machinery, and adherence to all safety and compliance standards.  Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.  Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.  Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to fifty (50) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.  Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.

    Job Description

    This role supports the assembly of copper bus required for electrical equipment. The overall objective of this position is to provide high quality craftsmanship when assembling copper bus and similar conductive material using best in class installation techniques in order to contribute to a team focused on achieving industry leading cycle time, delivering superior quality, and assisting in reducing per unit costs.     Schedule: Monday to Friday 6am to 4pm | Occasional Saturdays

    Accountabilities 

    Demonstrate an entry‐level of proficiency in executing workmanship on all production projects to include large line‐ ups and complex sections in areas of assembling and installing copper bus into enclosures, per drawing packages and instructions defined by the Engineering Department.   Install and mount conductive material into electrical enclosures by reading and comprehending schematics or documents, under supervision and guidance from senior team members, to efficiently build customized equipment in order to meet and exceed deadlines.  Perform daily tasks with safe and proper use of equipment and tools, including tape measures, drills, hand power tools, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and saw horses. Interpret and apply basic knowledge of manufacturing and principles while reading specifications to make determinations on bussing parts, methods, and sequencing. Maintain a safe, clean and well‐organized work area by complying with safety procedures, rules, quality standards and best practices, and relying on pre‐established guidelines or directions from senior team members to perform tasks optimally.  Maintain operational excellence by completing necessary paperwork such as Engineering Corrective Reports, Non‐ conformance Reports, Corrective Action Reports, and Material Transfer Requests. Qualifications

    Required Knowledge / Experience 

    0-1 year of work experience assembling copper bus, or similar materials, into electrical control equipment in a manufacturing facility required. Production and Processing: Knowledge or raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.  Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
