    Job DescriptionJob Description

    Position Summary: The Audio Visual Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio, video, and lighting equipment used for school events, performances, and other campus activities. This role ensures the reliable operation of audiovisual systems across the school campus. In addition, the technician serves as the Technical Theater Director in the afternoons, providing technical leadership and support for the school's three major theater productions each year.


    Essential Responsibilities:


    Set up, operate and break down sound and lighting equipment for school events (speakers, performances, theater production, events and meetings)

    Provide live sound support, lighting control and video projection support

    Assist faculty and staff with av technology (projectors, microphones, etc.) when needed

    Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in timely manner including during events and performances

    Perform routine maintenance and inventory of AV equipment (sound boards and theater lighting) working with vendors to complete maintenance/installation of equipment when necessary

    Coordinate sound and lighting for events with faculty, staff and students as needs

    Train students and faculty/staff on basic AV equipment use when needed

    Maintain cables, storage areas and equipment organization

    Submit maintenance request work orders for the department areas, campus and events as needed.

    Collaborate with Facilities department on supporting event performance needs and building theater sets

    Support the theater program as technical theater director and instructor

    Perform other duties as assigned.


    Qualifications:


    High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or technical training preferred)

    Experience with audio systems, lighting boards and video equipment

    Basic understanding of and ability to troubleshoot electronic equipment

    Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50lbs)

    Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends

    Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

    Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

    High attention to detail and accuracy; able to perform tasks independently.

    Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, collaborative work style.


    Physical and Environmental Requirements:


    Office environment, av equipment

    Repetitive (keyboard) motion

    Standing for extended periods

    Walking

    Lifting, bending and climbing ladders as needed

    Job Summary:

    Seeking a responsible and attentive Lifeguard to ensure the safety and well-being of all patrons in and around the Miss Porter’s School pool. The ideal candidate is alert, physically capable, and committed to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment through proactive supervision and quick response to emergencies.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Monitor pool activities continuously to ensure the safety of all swimmers and guests

    Enforce pool rules and regulations in a professional and consistent manner

    Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies by following established Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) and facility procedures, including performing water rescues and administering first aid or CPR/AED as necessary.

    Complete accident, incident, and rescue reports accurately and in a timely manner as required

    Maintain a clean and safe pool environment by identifying, reporting and addressing potential hazards

    Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with others

    Participate in regular safety drills, in-service training and team meetings

    Work collaboratively with team members while also demonstrating the ability to work independently

    Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students


    Minimum Qualifications:

    Must be at least 16 years of age

    Available to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, evenings and weekends

    Current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid must be maintained throughout employment

    Strong swimming skills and physical ability to perform rescues and respond in emergency situations

    Ability to remain alert, attentive and focused for extended periods

    Prior lifeguarding or aquatic experience (preferred but not required)



    Skills & Competencies:

    Strong knowledge of pool safety rules, emergency procedures, and risk prevention practices

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Ability to stay calm and make quick decisions under pressure

    Dependable, punctual and highly responsible

    Strong commitment to safety and teamwork


    Work Environment:

    Indoor pool setting

    Physically active role requiring prolonged standing, sitting and swimming

    Openings: Position 1: Saturday, 1st shift (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM)

    Position 2: Saturday & Sunday, 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM)

    Reports to: Campus Safety Supervisor

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    We are currently hiring two part-time Campus Safety team members to support the safety and security of the Miss Porter’s School community. This role is responsible for monitoring campus grounds and facilities, assisting students, staff, and visitors, conducting routine patrols, and helping ensure a safe and welcoming environment. Successful candidates will be dependable, observant, professional, and committed to promoting a positive school culture through proactive safety practices and excellent customer service. Candidates with flexible schedules who can assist with shift coverage as needed are strongly preferred.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    ● Performs foot and motor patrols of campus and related properties, including building checks

    ● Performs crosswalk duty across campus and major intersections

    ● Performs parking lot duties and monitoring as required

    ● Monitors and reports maintenance problems to appropriate personnel

    ● Maintains a safe environment for students, faculty and staff

    ● Manages the arrival of deliveries on campus and occasionally receive deliveries

    ● During lockdowns, secures school as required

    ● Responds to calls for emergency and non-emergency assistance on campus

    ● Performs medical and emergency first aid as required

    ● Monitors fire and burglar alarms and responds to any activated alarms

    ● Performs additional assignments as directed by the Campus Safety Supervisor


    REQUIREMENTS:

    ● Connecticut Guard Card is required

    ● Post-secondary education or training in security, customer service, or a related field

    ● Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to prepare reports

    ● Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, evidenced by demeanor & previous training

    ● Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office suite and other industry-driven software

    ● Current driver’s license with good driving record

    ● First Aid/AED/CPR certified

    ● Past law enforcement experience preferred

    ● Ability to relate well to the diverse populations of the school

    ● Ability to walk, run, climb multiple staircases, bend, stoop, and carry a minimum of 40 pounds

    ● Ability to perform foot portals and crosswalk duties in all types of weather conditions

    ● Ability to respond to high-stress situations in a calm and efficient manner

    ● Flexibility to work varying hours and shifts, including nights and weekends
