    Mid-West Textile is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to lead procurement operations and support our warehouse, recycling, and distribution activities. This position is responsible for purchasing raw materials, supplies, and consumables, managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and contracts, monitoring inventory levels, and driving cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality and service standards.

    The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment.

    Key ResponsibilitiesLead daily purchasing and procurement activitiesReview and approve purchase orders and requisitionsNegotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with suppliersDevelop and maintain strong supplier relationships and evaluate vendor performanceMonitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstock situationsCoordinate with warehouse, logistics, operations, and accounting teamsTrack shipments and resolve delivery, quality, service, and invoicing issuesAnalyze purchasing trends and identify cost-saving opportunitiesMaintain accurate purchasing records and reportsEnsure compliance with company purchasing policies and proceduresMonitor procurement KPIs, including supplier performance, cost savings, and on-time deliveryAssist with budgeting and forecasting activitiesTrain, coach, and supervise purchasing personnelSupport the development and implementation of purchasing procedures and best practicesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferredMinimum 5 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experiencePrevious supervisory or leadership experience preferredExperience with ERP/MRP systemsAdvanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly ExcelStrong negotiation, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsCPSM, CPP, or other purchasing/procurement certificationsExperience in distribution, recycling, logistics, warehouse, or industrial environmentsExperience with inventory control and forecasting processesBilingual English/Spanish preferredWhat We OfferOpportunity to lead and improve purchasing operationsCollaborative and team-oriented work environmentCareer growth opportunities within a growing organizationCompetitive compensation and benefits packageWork EnvironmentFast-paced warehouse and operational environmentCombination of office and operational floor activitiesOccasional extended hours based on business needs

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Classify used items according with a grade description using Proper use of sorting methods and techniquesMust be able to stay as required by the supervisor up to 5:30 pm w/minimum notice; Saturday work is sometimes required as well.Other related duties as assigned.Toss items into containers based on Grade Descriptions.Sort quantities required by production standards for the area. A minimum acceptable production level is set for each area.Meet quality expectations.Perform the morning stretch and strengthening exercises prior to the beginning of work at 6:55 and after lunch break.Basic knowledge of brand names, apparel fashion and/or interests.
