    Summary:

    The Staff Resource & Behavior Coach is responsible for coaching staff in implementing the Positive Behavior Support Framework to fidelity and supporting the behavioral, social, and emotional health of all children enrolled in assigned Head Start/Early Head Start Centers within the Mid-Cumberland Head Start/Early Head Start Program.     Specific Job Duties:

    Be familiar with Head Start Performance Standards, the Positive Behavior Support Framework, NAEYC, and all program delivery systems, including Tennessee Division Human Services policies and procedures.Establish comfortable and respectful relationships with staff, families, and children.Assist and be available for site staff regularly (up to 75% of time spent in classrooms).Conduct observations to create opportunities for discussion that incorporate new approaches into classroom practices.Provide feedback in a supportive, instructional, and nonjudgmental manner.Support staff through individualized learning styles and model best practices to develop support plans, with appropriate curriculum planning, in collaboration with staff to increase competence and development.Role model the use of positive language, strategy execution, and guidance techniques to increase positive teacher-child interactions.Coach staff on the implementation of the Positive Behavior Support Framework to ensure comprehensive, developmentally appropriate strategies that support mental health and social-emotional development, increasing positive classroom climates.Work collaboratively with all staff and families to achieve positive child outcomes and serve as an advocate when necessary.Provide teachers and parents with appropriate resources to expand their knowledge in supporting the social and emotional well-being of children (e.g., conferences, parent meetings, trainings, newsletters, home visits, calls).Work collaboratively with the Mental Health Disability & Behavior Coordinator.Complete, conduct, and manage special projects and assignments delegated to assist in program operations.Assume the role of teacher in the absence of the assigned teacher when necessary.Recruit children for the Head Start and Early Head Start Programs.Attend and participate in meetings, work groups, team meetings, committees, workshops, training sessions, and conferences as assigned, which may include local, state, regional, and national groups.     Specific Job Duties:

    Mission Statement:

    Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency will act as a stepping stone to create stronger communities where families with low incomes have opportunities to connect, grow, and maintain dignity.

    Summary:
    A Substitute assists in the day-to-day operation of a Head Start center in various capacities, including but not limited to classroom, food service, or family service assistance.

    Specific Job Duties:

    Assist in planning daily lessons and activities. Assume major classroom responsibilities as requested and as expertise is gained.Keep parents informed through conferences, letters, newsletters, anecdotal notes, and telephone calls.Assist with preparation and cleanup of all meals; eat meals with the children.Assist in all cleaning duties of both the classroom and the center as requested or required.Provide food service assistance in the absence of the Food Service Technician.Assist with parent meetings or trainings.Recruit children for the Head Start and Early Head Start Programs.Attend and participate in meetings, team meetings, committees, workshops, individual training, and conferences as assigned. This includes local, state, regional, and national groups, as well as pre-service and in-service training.Work to obtain volunteer and in-kind contributions for the Agency and submit necessary documents to the Finance Department.Comply with all Head Start Performance Standards, Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency and Mid-Cumberland Head Start Policies and Procedures, and other applicable Early Childhood Standards such as DHS Licensing Standards and NAEYC Accreditation Standards.Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

    Education and Experience Qualifications:

    Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; CDA credential preferred.
    Experience: Previous work with children ages 0-5.

Submit necessary documents as directed.Comply with all Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency and Mid-Cumberland Head Start Policies and Procedures, Head Start Performance Standards, and other applicable Early Childhood Standards such as DHS Licensing Standards and NAEYC Accreditation Standards.Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

    Education and Experience Qualifications:

    Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; CDA credential or Associate’s degree preferred. (Must obtain CDA credential, preschool designation, within 12 months of hire.)Experience: Previous work within a preschool or with children ages 0-5.
