    Micronesian Legal Services Corporation (MLSC) seeks to increase access to justice throughout Micronesia, through a network of regional offices in the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and the Republic of Palau.

    MLSC is seeking applications for the position of Attorney in our office on Majuro.

    Qualifications:



    Have graduated from an ABA-accredited law school; or be admitted to practice before the highest court of a jurisdiction where that court's jurisprudence is based upon the common law tradition; andAdmitted or eligible to be admitted to practice in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

    General Responsibilities:



    MLSC increases access to justice primarily through three strategies: comprehensive civil legal services, from advice to representation in court; providing community legal education; and collaboration with others. We welcome applications from attorneys with experience and enthusiasm for advocating for low income communities using all three strategies.

    The attorney will handle a wide variety of civil cases, conduct community outreach and education, and participate in collaborative efforts.

    Compensation and Benefits:



    Compensation includes an annual salary from $43,784 to $60,600 depending on experience, and generous benefits will be provided.

    Micronesian Legal Services Corporation seeks an experienced and committed attorney to lead its Anti-Domestic Violence Project, providing comprehensive civil legal services to survivors of domestic violence in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). The attorney will manage a caseload, supervise project staff, and ensure delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed legal advocacy to survivors.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Represent survivors of domestic violence in civil protection order, family law, housing, and related matters.

    Supervise and support project staff in providing coordinated client services.

    Develop and implement strategies to ensure effective, survivor-centered legal representation.

    Build partnerships with local agencies and community organizations to strengthen systemic responses to domestic violence.

    Ensure compliance with grant requirements, including timely data collection and reporting.

    Conduct outreach as part of MLSCs public awareness efforts.

    Qualifications:

    Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and admission to the CNMI Bar, or eligibility for admission by waiver or examination.

    Demonstrated commitment to serving survivors of domestic violence and promoting access to justice.

    Strong management, communication, and organizational skills.

    Prior experience in family law, legal aid, or supervising legal staff preferred.

    Position Overview:
    We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers, interns, and pro bono attorneys. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in legal services, nonprofit operations, and community advocacy. Volunteers/interns will work on a variety of tasks ranging from research and casework to assisting with outreach and administrative functions. We will match pro bono attorneys with time-limited, short term cases/advocacy/projects.

    Responsibilities (examples):

    Conduct legal research on issues such as family law, civil rights, environmental law, and access to justice.Assist in drafting legal documents, reports, and other materials as needed.Support case management through data entry, case file organization, and document review.Collaborate on special projects, such as workshops or community outreach.Contribute to ongoing advocacy efforts, including helping prepare for public hearings or community events.Assist in administrative tasks, including organizing files, preparing client materials, and general office support


    Qualifications:

    Strong interest in law, social justice, and nonprofit work.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.Proficiency in working with computers is helpful but not requiredFlexibility in handling various tasks and working in a fast-paced environment.Prior legal experience is helpful but not required.


    Work Schedule:
    This position offers flexibility in scheduling. We will work with you to create a schedule that is mutually convenient.
