    What You ll Do

    As a Surgery and Cardiology Assistant at MVUCS, you ll support our veterinarian and nursing teams, ensuring smooth operations and excellent patient care. In this role, you will:

    Assist the Surgical Department with a variety of tasks, including setting up for surgeries, preparing equipment, assist in maintaining instrument availability and sterility, perform digital radiographs, and help during procedures Assist the Cardiology Department with patient appointments, patient restraint / monitoring, and help with diagnostic procedures Support veterinary technicians in patient admits and discharges, ensuring clients receive clear instructions and feel confident about at-home care Communicate effectively with clients and team members verbally and in writing to convey important updates, next steps, and relevant instructions Provide patient care, including handling laundry, husbandry duties, walking dogs, and cleaning cages to maintain a safe, comfortable environment Stock supplies in various locations throughout the hospital, keeping work areas organized and ready for immediate use Uphold hospital cleanliness and integrity, ensuring each space is orderly, sanitized, and properly equipped

    Anticipated Schedule

    This is a full-time position with the following available schedule:

    Tuesday through Friday: Tuesday and Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM, Wednesday and Thursday, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM

    Compensation

    Starting at $19.00/hour

    What You ll Do

    As a Veterinary Anesthesia Technician at MVA, you ll be responsible for providing safe and effective anesthesia services to a diverse array of patients. In this role, you will:

    Plan and prepare individualized anesthesia protocols in collaboration with a veterinary anesthesiologist and other specialists. Administer and monitor anesthesia, using advanced equipment to track vital signs, depth of anesthesia, and patient comfort. Assist during surgical and diagnostic procedures, anticipating the needs of the veterinary team and adapting to rapid changes in patient status. Manage perioperative pain control, administering medications and monitoring pain levels to ensure patient comfort. Help maintain accurate records of anesthesia protocols, drug usage, and patient responses to ensure consistent and informed care.     What You ll Do

    As part of MVA's commitment to excellence, we are seeking a dedicated Education and Development Coordinator to join our team. You will be responsible for mentoring, training, and developing our Emergency and ICU staff through one-on-one coaching, hands-on instruction, and oversight of educational progress. This role is key in fostering the professional growth and clinical competency of our veterinary assistants and technicians. In this role, you will:

    Provide individualized, hands-on training to veterinary assistants and technicians in clinical procedures, protocols, and client communication Develop and implement training plans tailored to team member experience and goals Track progress and provide ongoing assessments and feedback to support team development Work collaboratively with leadership to identify skills gaps and provide appropriate educational resources Foster a positive, supportive learning environment focused on skill advancement and professional growth Coordinate ongoing training and case discussions, continuing education activities, and internal workshops Participate in direct patient care, either in a one-to-one training capacity or by managing patients independently
