Position Overview / Summary
Metalex is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Lead Manufacturing Engineer that will be directly engaged and responsible for creating and developing technical manufacturing plans to achieve exceptional quality and best value for complex precision machined components and assemblies for Customers across a diverse group of industries including Space, Energy, Defense, Aerospace, Marine and Consumer Goods.
As a key leader within our technical manufacturing team at Metalex, you will have a dynamic role, engaging with Customers, outside suppliers and subcontractors, as well as every internal functional area of the company including Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Purchasing, Quotation and Sales. You will be providing critical support to Customer and teammates throughout the project life cycle to ensure we deliver exceptional quality and best overall value for our customers and our company.

Primary Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Senior Manufacturing Engineer is to create, develop and optimize technical manufacturing processes to achieve exceptional quality, efficiency and throughput at the best possible cost for the precision manufacturing of complex components and assemblies.
· Review customer purchase orders, drawings and quality specifications.
· Develop detailed manufacturing process routers (mfg plans) to meet customer requirements
· Work with programmers and machinists to develop machining and work holding strategy
· Develop fixturing concepts and designs in CAD, 3D Design and/or create operational sketches (Siemens NX)
· Review special processing requirements and incorporate into process planning
· Interact with customers and vendors to support requirements of project
· Coordinate technical manufacturing startup activities by engaging teammates internally within Metalex and and outside suppliers, to ensure all components and final assemblies meet quality and performance specifications
· Manage projects using engineering principles
· Maintain and oversee detail of all engineering manufacturing documentation (Routers, Drawings, etc).
· Evaluate existing systems and processes and modify as appropriate to improve performance.
· Partner with Quality to resolve issues and as needed perform root cause and corrective action for Non-Conformances
· Achieve product profitability goals by completing projects within required time constraints while meeting all quality, cost and delivery targets. Constantly be searching for new and innovative ways to drive down the total cost of manufacturing.

Requirements and QUALIFICATIONS:
· Four-year engineering degree (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience
· Minimum 8 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience working in Job Shop, Aerospace or industrial environment
· Strong understanding of manufacturing processing methods (milling, turning, grinding, welding, EDM, Assembly, etc), metal material science, CNC programming, CMM and Manual Inspection.
· Working knowledge of special processes such as plating, NDT and Heat treatment of materials a plus
· Strong at reading customer prints / specifications with practical hands-on application of GD&T principles
· Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with limited supervision and a positive, can-do attitude
· Organized and detail oriented, with proven logical thinking and problem solving skills
· Strong Project management, team building, and leadership skills.
· Able to work independently, with very good verbal and written communication skills.
· Intermediate to Advanced Computer Skills, proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite tools
· Experience with NX 12 a plus.

Progression and Responsibilities Level 1 Lead by example in safety, quality, and policy adherence.Operate power tools, hand tools, and basic electrical test equipment safely.Follow all safety rules and departmental procedures.Execute preventive maintenance and minor repairs as assigned.Assist maintenance teammates as directed.Detect, document, and report abnormal machine conditions and faulty components.Apply LOTO/HAZCOM/PPE/Confined Space and other safety programs every time.Help train other maintenance staff when needed.Perform PMs aligned with your current skill level.Complete other tasks assigned by the Supervisor or Department Assistant. Level 2 All Level 1 duties, plus:2+ years technical training and 3+ years experience (or equivalent).Confidently read mechanical and electrical schematics.Support maintenance technicians and machine operators.Troubleshoot with defined problem-solving methods.Provide data and feedback to engineering; participate in beta tests for projects.Work with machine service engineers; escalate unusual issues for resolution.Follow emergency procedures for power failures.Demonstrate proficiency in basic mechanical or electrical work.Perform basic welding when required. Level 3 All Level 1–2 duties, plus:2+ years technical training and 5+ years experience (or equivalent).Proactively detect, document, report, and close out equipment issues.Troubleshoot/repair using mechanical and electrical prints; recommend design improvements.Demonstrate strong competence in standard mechanical and electrical tasks.Serve as an expert resource to engineering on projects.Author new PM procedures and manage them through document control. What You’ll Need English communication skills, written and verbal.Forklift experience.Understanding of press operations.Knowledge of quality requirements and ISO 9001:2015 procedures.Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions.Familiarity with company policies, shop standards, and safety rules.HVAC/refrigeration knowledge is a plus.Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and kneel repeatedly; lift up to 50 lbs and handle cumbersome items. POSITION OVERVIEW/SUMMARY:
Metalex is expanding its advanced turning capabilities and is seeking experienced CNC Turning Machinists to join our team. This position involves the setup and operation of both horizontal and vertical CNC lathes to machine complex, high-value parts for critical aerospace and industrial applications.
You'll work with a variety of challenging materials — including Inconel, titanium, and stainless steel — producing precision components to tight tolerances in a clean, modern, and high-performance environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Set up and operate horizontal and vertical CNC lathes, including machines with multi-axis and live tooling capabilitiesSelect appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and workholding solutions based on part geometry and materialMachine precision parts to tight tolerances (typically ±.0005”) and meet strict surface finish requirementsRead and interpret detailed blueprints, process documentation, and GD&T specificationsPerform in-process inspections using micrometers, bore gages, calipers, height gages, and other precision measuring toolsMaintain and adjust machine offsets, tooling wear, and workholding to ensure consistent qualityFollow routers, setup sheets, and document any deviations or improvementsWork collaboratively with Engineering, Programming, and Quality to resolve dimensional or machining issuesSupport cross-training efforts and contribute to a positive, team-oriented cultureMaintain clean and organized work area aligned with 6S principles and all company safety policiesParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, tooling, and process efficiencyREQUIREMENTS:
