Position Overview / Summary

The Quotation Department develops estimates and proposals for build-to-print precision components solicited by our customers which include leaders in the Space, Aerospace, Energy and Consumer Goods Industries. At Metalex, we specialize in the manufacture of a diverse range of products and components, from small, high volume short cycle time parts to oversized parts and assemblies exceeding 30ft in diameter and height. These require extensive project management and outsourcing due to their complexity, precision tolerances and small to medium lot sizes.
In a team oriented setting, the Quote Engineer will assist in generating cost estimates in response to Customer Requests for Quotes (RFQ’s). They will also ensure the quality of their quotes by actively monitoring the real-time performance of awarded jobs in the shop. They will be available to answer questions related to the job’s quotation and will incorporate daily learnings into the quote process. The continuous improvement approach ensures the development of the best quote outcome for both Metalex and its customers
As a part of the selection process, candidates will be given examples of completed parts with a list of our equipment and asked to create rough routers, estimate machining times, and explain their choices as part of the interview process.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Must be able to read and analyze blueprints, 3D CAD models, parts lists, Customer specifications and quality assurance clauses to determine manufacturing requirements.
· Request quotes for materials, purchased items, and outside services, or line up assisting teammates to do so.
· Create a rough process router (i.e. step by step mfg plan) for parts to be machined in our shop, recommending efficient machining practices
· Estimate machining cycle and setup times, using appropriate tooling, feeds and speeds for the application.
· Learn and follow Metalex’ quotation processes and system operating with the discipline and creativity required to successfully develop winning quotes and proposals.
· Review profit/loss and actual hours from same or similar parts from our database.
· Clearly document and communicate the basis for estimates, to ease the transition from quoting to manufacturing.
· Monitor job performance in real time, investigating run time overages and answering questions during manufacturing
Requirements and Qualifications:

· A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or relevant technology discipline -OR- 5 years of experience in a precision machining environment

POSITION OVERVIEW/SUMMARY:
Metalex is expanding its high-precision grinding capabilities and seeking an experienced CNC ID/OD Grinding Machinist to join our team. This role involves setting up and operating a variety of CNC horizontal, vertical, and specialty grinding machines to produce mission-critical components with tight tolerances and high surface finish requirements.
You’ll work on challenging parts made from high-performance materials including Inconel, titanium, and stainless steel, using state-of-the-art equipment and tools in a clean, well-supported, team-oriented environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Position Overview / Summary
Metalex is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Lead Manufacturing Engineer that will be directly engaged and responsible for creating and developing technical manufacturing plans to achieve exceptional quality and best value for complex precision machined components and assemblies for Customers across a diverse group of industries including Space, Energy, Defense, Aerospace, Marine and Consumer Goods.
As a key leader within our technical manufacturing team at Metalex, you will have a dynamic role, engaging with Customers, outside suppliers and subcontractors, as well as every internal functional area of the company including Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Purchasing, Quotation and Sales. You will be providing critical support to Customer and teammates throughout the project life cycle to ensure we deliver exceptional quality and best overall value for our customers and our company.

Primary Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Senior Manufacturing Engineer is to create, develop and optimize technical manufacturing processes to achieve exceptional quality, efficiency and throughput at the best possible cost for the precision manufacturing of complex components and assemblies.
· Review customer purchase orders, drawings and quality specifications.
· Develop detailed manufacturing process routers (mfg plans) to meet customer requirements
· Work with programmers and machinists to develop machining and work holding strategy
· Develop fixturing concepts and designs in CAD, 3D Design and/or create operational sketches (Siemens NX)
· Review special processing requirements and incorporate into process planning
· Interact with customers and vendors to support requirements of project
· Coordinate technical manufacturing startup activities by engaging teammates internally within Metalex and and outside suppliers, to ensure all components and final assemblies meet quality and performance specifications
· Manage projects using engineering principles
· Maintain and oversee detail of all engineering manufacturing documentation (Routers, Drawings, etc).
· Evaluate existing systems and processes and modify as appropriate to improve performance.
· Partner with Quality to resolve issues and as needed perform root cause and corrective action for Non-Conformances
· Achieve product profitability goals by completing projects within required time constraints while meeting all quality, cost and delivery targets. Constantly be searching for new and innovative ways to drive down the total cost of manufacturing.

Requirements and QUALIFICATIONS:
· Four-year engineering degree (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience
· Minimum 8 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience working in Job Shop, Aerospace or industrial environment
· Strong understanding of manufacturing processing methods (milling, turning, grinding, welding, EDM, Assembly, etc), metal material science, CNC programming, CMM and Manual Inspection.
· Working knowledge of special processes such as plating, NDT and Heat treatment of materials a plus
· Strong at reading customer prints / specifications with practical hands-on application of GD&T principles
· Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with limited supervision and a positive, can-do attitude
· Organized and detail oriented, with proven logical thinking and problem solving skills
· Strong Project management, team building, and leadership skills.
· Able to work independently, with very good verbal and written communication skills.
· Intermediate to Advanced Computer Skills, proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite tools
· Experience with NX 12 a plus.
