SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for preserving the condition and functionality of our business equipment and premises. Duties will include conducting quality assessments, scheduling repairs, maintaining inventory, and developing preventative maintenance procedures. A Jack-of-all-trades, with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, hydraulic systems, and basic tools and appliances.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machinesDevelop and perform Preventative Maintenance, adhere to manufacturers' schedulesRecord maintenance activities and repairs so as to record/audit performance resultsResponsible for providing technical assistance on all things related to facility maintenance including electric, landscaping, painting, carpentry, building construction, plumbing, etc.Maintain inventory controls for cost effective operationsHVAC / Electrical / General repairsRecommend course of action to management based on costsEstablish timeline and execute projects along timeframeMaintain a clean and safe work environmentAdhere to all Metal Coatings and OSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant groundsComply with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materialsMeet or exceed company safety standardsPerform other job responsibilities as assigned by management

Plumbing, grounds keeping, electrical, hydraulic and carpentry knowledgeSkill in the use of tools, machines and testing instruments used in the repair and overhaul of plant equipment and building servicesKnowledge of the basic operating principles of the electrical and mechanical systems and components found in most plant equipmentAbility to carry out not only simple, but complex oral and written instructions and deal with problems from standardized situations and work experienceAbility to apply knowledge of equipment operating principles to diagnose and correct malfunctions in plant equipmentGood mathematical skills, including basic math, fractions and conversions of four-five digit numbers and common units of measurement in both metric and decimal systemAbility to communicate well with supervisors, welders, leadmen, other Mechanics, maintenance personnel, co-workers and outside contractorsHigh level of attentiveness and physical coordination to perform the work activities safely and productivelyEducation
High School Diploma or equivalentCertificate in HVAC is preferredCertificate and two (2) years of journeyman level experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment or an equivalent combination of education, training or experienceWork Experience
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar roleIn-depth knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and other systemsPhysical Requirements:
