Messing Roofing & Construction is seeking an ambitious contract Assistant Site Superintendent to help lead the construction of a large multifamily development in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
This is a unique opportunity to work directly alongside an experienced Site Superintendent/Project Manager while managing the installation of complete exterior building envelope systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction professional who wants to grow into a Superintendent role and take ownership of increasingly complex projects.
Project Scope
The Assistant Site Superintendent will help oversee installation and coordination of:
Asphalt shingle roofing systemsTapered low-slope roofing systemsWeather-resistant barriers (WRB)Fiber cement sidingCertainTeed stone veneer systemsExterior doorsWindowsBuilding envelope detailing and quality controlResponsibilities
Assist the Site Superintendent in daily field operationsCoordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and deliveriesMonitor production schedules and project milestonesConduct daily site walks and quality inspectionsEnforce jobsite safety requirements and company standardsIdentify and resolve field issues before they impact scheduleTrack manpower, productivity, and progress reportingVerify installations meet manufacturer specifications and project requirementsCoordinate inspections and punch list activitiesMaintain organized project documentation and field reportsBuild strong working relationships with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and inspectorsQualifications
310 years of construction field experienceExperience with multifamily, commercial, or large residential constructionUnderstanding of building envelope systems preferredAbility to read plans, specifications, and shop drawingsStrong organizational and communication skillsProficiency with construction technology and project documentationOSHA 30 preferred (or willingness to obtain)Self-motivated, dependable, and eager to grow professionallyWhat We Offer
