    The Communications and Marketing Specialist is responsible for driving MHP's digital communications, marketing, advocacy, donor engagement, and volunteer outreach efforts. This role develops and manages content across social media, email, website, video, and print channels; supports fundraising and development initiatives; maintains donor and volunteer databases; and helps promote MHP's mission through compelling storytelling and community engagement. The ideal candidate combines strong communications and marketing skills with experience in nonprofit outreach, constituent management, and project coordination to help advance organizational awareness, engagement, and fundraising objectives.


    This is a hybrid position, located at 833 Chestnut St, Suite 1100, Philadelphia, PA 19107. The hybrid schedule requires three consecutive days in-office. The schedule will be Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:00PM (Can also be 8:30AM - 4:30PM or 9:00AM - 5:00PM). The salary for this position will be $56,000 annually.

    Digital Media and Marketing:

    Create and manage content for digital platforms (social media, website, blogs, podcasts, email campaigns, etc.). Develop and execute digital media campaigns and social media strategies aligned with MHP’s strategic goals. Maintain and update digital media advocacy and awareness calendars, marketing plans, and direct marketing methods. Improve brand awareness and community engagement around mental health, peer support, and MHP’s mission. Design multimedia content (graphics, videos, brochures) for digital outreach and campaigns. Organize and promote events (e.g., legislative visits, rallies) across digital platforms. Monitor and analyze social media/web traffic, assess engagement, and optimize digital presence. Collaborate with other departments to manage brand awareness and reputation. Track and analyze ROI and KPIs, using data to refine marketing strategies. Assist with crisis management and moderating user-generated content according to platform policies. Stay updated on digital media trends and technologies. Conduct email marketing campaigns targeting relevant audiences and generating revenue.

    Donor Database Administration:

    Administer the donor, volunteer and other constituent management system (e.g., CRM software) including data entry, tracking, and updating constituent information. Prepare and generate donor, volunteer and other constituent reports, track fundraising and volunteer progress. Support the advancement team with preparation for donor communications, acknowledgements, and stewardship.

    Volunteer Coordination:

    Review volunteer inquiries and send them to the appropriate program/ department to follow up. Maintain a volunteer database and communication system for updates including about advocacy efforts and how they can join in. Prepare an annual report of the number of volunteers and volunteer hours and other reports as needed. Serve as the point of contact for volunteers and address any logistical needs or concerns.

    General Administrative Support:

    Provide administrative support for department initiatives, including scheduling meetings, organizing events, and assisting with special projects. Handle correspondence related to donor and volunteer communications. Assist in preparation of materials for fundraising events, donor meetings, and campaigns. Help organize and maintain physical and digital files, ensuring all materials are up-to-date and easily accessible.

    General Communications Support:

    Assist in the preparation and distribution of newsletters, annual reports, and press releases. Help create content for internal and external communications that promote the organization's mission. Support the coordination of campaigns and events, from planning through execution. Conduct interviews with participants, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners to develop written, photographic, and video stories

    Other Duties:

    Maintains compliance with all MHP policies and procedures. Reports known conduct taken by any MHP employee (including yourself) who violates any MHP policy or law on which you have been trained, or should know of, such as laws criminalizing theft or violent crimes, and reports the matter to management or to the Vice President of Compliance or Human Resources.     Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience in digital media, marketing, or communications, with proficiency in social media management, content creation, and email marketing platforms. Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite). Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Familiarity with donor management software (e.g., Salesforce, Bloomerang, DonorPerfect) and volunteer coordination tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented, adaptable, and proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A passion for the mission of the organization and the ability to represent the organization’s values through communication and outreach efforts.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience in a nonprofit setting, particularly in development and communications.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO


    Leads the overall service coordination consistent with MHP & regulatory guidelines; establishes and implements operational procedures and monitors participant visits.In conjunction with the Program Manager, hires, trains, evaluates and develops staff in support of MHP and Recovery core policies, use of electronic health records, practices and principles; address and monitor the specific goals and assignments of each staff member by facilitating weekly one/one supervisory meetings. Supervises staff in implementation of these activities and programs.Assists Program Manager in completing service verifications.Engage family, friends and other supporters per participants in their recovery goals (if applicable).Ensure proper application of program, agency, and quality assurance and compliance procedures, including supervision and training requirements.Work with participants and staff as needed to ensure continuity of care.Ensures staff obtains necessary information during the intake process, and that they collaboratively document participant progress in MHP’s electronic health records system; approves entries as required. Maintains a small caseload of participants by performing the essential job duties of a Recovery Coach, such as the creation of self-directed goal plans, the identification of resources, the coordinator of relevant supports, the creation of WRAP plans, and the collaborative documentation of participant progress in the Electronic Health Records system; responsible for shared on-call duties.Assists participants with educational, employment, and social related goals, benefit acquisition/medical, mental health and substance use services, budgeting skills and exploring housing options in accordance with the support plan.     ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES


    • Assume the leadership and responsibility of the IT Team. Serve as the primary point of contact between internal and external stakeholders.

    • Work along with managed service provider to achieve strategic objectives including disaster recovery and preparedness, IT Compliance, hardware and software monitoring, network and infrastructure updates, IT security maintenance, and IT policy development and implementation.

    • Steward the relationship with the Managed Service Providers by establishing ongoing meetings to achieve project outcomes and to liase with the CFO for ongoing IT functionality.

    • Keep the CFO informed of IT Department issues including staffing, workflow failures, outages and any other matters that can threaten both the department and the organization.

    • Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders as necessary, including the IT departmental report for the board of directors' meeting.

    • Serve on the Senior Leadership Team and provide advice to leadership on cost savings, use of technology, and other projects that need support.

    • Provides direction to internal and external help desk staff; prioritizes helpdesk requests and ensures proper staffing.

    • Promotes a team environment that creates a safe space for staff to perform at their best.

    • Identifies the need for staff training and development and ensures completion.

    • Tracks and analyzes support calls and information requests; identify areas of need and create strategies to enhance end-user capacity and end-user reliance on support personnel.

    • Develops and maintains procedures related to monitoring, tracking, and coordinating Help Desk activity.

    • Oversees and troubleshoots network/connectivity issues for Comcast, FIOS, Zayo and Meraki controllers.

    • Manages equipment inventories; assesses needs, coordinates purchase orders and orders equipment as appropriate, identifies and removes technology equipment from service and assists with the proper disposal/asset recovery or coordinates recycling as necessary.

    • Coordinates projects related to deployments; office moves and software/hardware upgrades.

    • Establishes and monitors service level targets/benchmarks and measures performance against those benchmarks.

    • Manages and negotiates vendor contracts with vendors such as Verizon Wireless, Vonage, Ricoh, Comcast, Verizon FIOS, Zayo, Tech Impact.

    • Manages and supports MHP third party application pool including MIP, Constant Contacts, Comm100, Knowbe4, Zoom, Little Green Light, Thinkific, Bassets, Verkada, Adobe, Sharefile, Tech Soup, Cloudfare, Fiscal Note.

    • Oversees and processes requests for the IT department budget and expenses.

    • Administers MS365 Entra accounts, group memberships, Google Workspace, etc.; acts as the gatekeeper for access to MHP networks and applications.

    • Strong knowledge of Sharepoint and MS Teams administration.

    • Administers and configures MHP VOIP phone system, including moves and changes

    • Supports Electronic Health Records (EHR) maintenance, including but not limited to attending training and meetings with staff and vendors and participating in enhancements; assists with the resolution of EHR help desk support tickets.

    • Hires, trains, evaluates and develops IT staff in support of MHP and Recovery core policies, practices and principles; address and monitor the specific goals and assignments of each staff member by facilitating regular supervisory meetings.

    • Creates, maintains, and analyzes a variety of tabular and graphical reports across all systems for ongoing departmental and external auditing needs as required.

    • Oversee mobile administration (Verizon, Intune, Apple Business Manager).

    • Facilitates Departmental meetings, which includes developing agendas and keeping track of priorities.

    • Maintains compliance with all MHP policies and procedures. Reports known conduct taken by any MHP employee which violates any MHP policy or law on which you have been trained, or should know of, such as laws criminalizing theft or violent crimes, and reports the matter to management or to the Director – Quality Improvement; Compliance and/or Human Resources.

    • Other duties as assigned to fulfill MHP’s mission.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.

    • 7+ years’ experience in technology support operations.

    • 3+ years’ experience in supervising staff and/or consultants.

    • Strong knowledge of MS Office 365 administration and Google Workspace.

    • Experience troubleshooting both hardware and Microsoft operating systems.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Windows 11.

    • Experience in the Behavioral health field is a plus.

    • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

    • Strong skillsets in oral and written communication, interpersonal relationships and teamwork, attention to detail, customer service, time management, autonomy, problem solving, and organization.

    MHP hiring a full time Certified Peer Specialist to provide mobile, flexible, community based services designed to promote empowerment, recovery, and community integration of individuals who have challenges with extensive mental health conditions. Certified Peer Specialists facilitate opportunities for individuals receiving service to direct their own recovery and advocacy process by teaching and supporting individuals with the acquisition and utilization of skills, promoting knowledge of available service options, choices and the utilization of natural resources in the community, and helping facilitate the development of a sense of wellness and self-worth.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    Collaborate with participants to create self-directed goals to assist them in their path to recovery.Support participants with educational, employment, and social related goals, benefit/medical resources, mental health and substance use services, budgeting skills and exploring housing options in accordance with their support plan.Attend socialization activities, such as attending amusement parks, festivals, recovery learning centers, 12 step meetings, etc.In collaboration with participants, create WRAP Plans and encourage the development of mental health advanced directives; facilitate peer support groups on participants' interests as needed. Collaboratively document participant progress in the electronic health records system.Other duties as assigned to fulfill MHP's mission.Requirements:Minimum of a High School or GED Diploma; Associates Degree in a Human Services related field is preferred.Credentialed as a Certified Peer Specialist and eligible for certification through the PA Certification Board.Within the last three (3) years, maintained at least 12 months of successful full or part-time paid or voluntary work experience.Demonstrated knowledge of the local Mental Health System.Must possess basic computer skills to perform job duties including desktop computing, e-mail, timesheet management, electronic health records, internet research, etc. and the ability to learn software applications relevant to your position.Strong skillsets in oral and written communication, cultural competence, interpersonal relationships and teamwork, attention to detail, customer service, time management, autonomy, problem solving and organization.Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines and billable unit requirements, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.Must possess a valid driver's license.
