These actions primarily consist of working with a small team to plan the exercise while supporting the exercise director and the evaluation team with finalizing exercise evaluation guides, inputting controller observations into a database, and drafting/reviewing exercise after action reviews. The emergency response organization position will require support outside of normal office hours. Additionally, certification as an emergency response team member is required with frequent on-call duties. Will require domestic and infrequent international overnight travel.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvide guidance, consultation, and facilitation for the Federal client and project team by planning, designing, executing, and evaluating exercises supported with exercise-related products. Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Technical Advisor supports the NNSA Office of Nuclear Forensics Detonation Assessment Program (DAP), assisting the Federal Program Manager with program planning, implementation, and interagency coordination. This role provides technical expertise in post-detonation nuclear forensics, including NUDET modeling, prompt sensors, radiochemistry, and debris analysis, and exercise planning and coordination. Responsibilities include supporting program logistics, training, operations, and policy development, as well as reviewing research initiatives and integrating new technologies. The Technical Advisor drafts and reviews plans, procedures, and program documentation while coordinating with DoD, FBI, DHS, DOS, DOE/NNSA offices, National Laboratories, academia, and industry. This position requires innovative problem-solving to support national decision-making, law enforcement, and public safety following a nuclear detonation. Work is on-site in Washington, DC, with situational telework possible.
