    Position Summary:

    The Project Manager is responsible for assigned project work (could be singular or multiple projects) and all activities associated with the assigned project(s). This will include the coordination of work schedules and staffing, contractors or subcontractors, timeline management, procuring materials and equipment, and project budgets. The Project Manager may serve as primary point of contact for customers and will be involved in all things related to project(s) from project quoting to onsite management, through the final close out of the project.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    · Plans, manages, and completes assigned projects which may cross several functional areas such as staffing, operations, or project administration.

    · Work with cross-functional team members to develop detailed project schedule including milestones, deliverables, and dependencies based on business objectives, budget, scope, timeline, and risks or hazards.

    · Review plans and other technical documents and serve as the main point of contact for project questions, project scope and timelines.

    · Manage project finances and budget; schedule resources including needed labor and equipment according to budget parameters.

    · Conduct Pre-Hand-Off Meeting (prior to commencement of the project) & Post-Hand-Off Meeting (post completion of the project) with the sales and operations teams, ensuring clarity of the scope and expectations, as well as establishing lessons learned.

    · Anticipate changes or challenges, maintain productivity, and ensure successful project transition throughout the project lifecycle utilizing effective change management practices.

    · Supervise field teams and provide leadership and oversight for project teams. May input time and various pay codes and approve timecards for team members.

    · Communicate directly with clients, contractors/subcontractors, and project designers utilizing a Request for Information/Quote/Proposal (RFI/Q/P) processes.

    · Keep MEI leadership, field personnel, and customers / clients and stakeholders informed of project progress on a frequent basis.

    · Collaborate with various teams to execute the project management plan; revise & document plan via a structured change order process as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

    · Work closely with sales team in all phases of the project; work with safety team to coordinate safety training, accident and injury investigations, or property or equipment/material damage incident investigations.

    · Identify, monitor, and work to continuously mitigate risk inherent with projects.

    · Problem-solve and demonstrate quality control measures to ensure project meets MEI standards and customer expectations.

    · Facilitate and/or participate in weekly department and team meetings; provide updates on project progress and resolve issues while communicating with team members, stakeholders, and executives.

    · Must be able to travel to client’s job site(s) and work onsite while directing all activities on the project.

    · Maintain project files in SharePoint to ensure project continuity and historic documentation. Prepare project status reports and works to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications.

    · Consistently demonstrates professional conduct as a representative of MEI and adheres to the corporate mission, vision, and values.

    · Perform all other duties as necessary and directed.

    Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):

    · High school diploma or GED equivalent necessary. Higher education (bachelor’s degree) in project management, construction, or a related field highly preferred.

    · Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.

    · Five (5) plus years proven machinery moving, construction, project management or construction safety experience is preferable. Rigging and rigging concept knowledge strongly preferred.

    · Familiar with a variety of field / project concepts, practices, procedures, and risks. Background in managing long-term and resource heavy projects preferred.

    · Excellent supervisory and project management skills.

    · Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Able to effectively share information across all levels of staff and understanding.

    **The MEI office is located approximately 17 miles from downtown Reno (east) off the I-80 Patrick exit (before the Tesla exit) onto Waltham way.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    The Project Manager/Estimator combination role is responsible to estimate, secure and manage machinery moving and rigging jobs inception through completion. Must be able to estimate and manage one or more of the following work types:

    • Small, short duration machine moving jobs; primarily fork, Versa-Lift or simple crane work
    • Mid-size projects installing or relocating multiple items, lines or jobs of moderate complexity and scale
    • Larger, long duration projects such as plant installations, decommissioning, relocations or very large lines or machines,
    • Technical or complex rigging using multiple cranes, combinations of lifting/moving technologies, hydraulic gantries, jack-and-slide, special fixtures, etc.

    Responsibilities include estimating, generating lift plans and rigging plans, participating in negotiations, pre-construction, planning, risk management and overall project performance from financial and safety performance, schedule development, procurement, subcontractor management to project closeout. Manage client and stakeholder relationships. Provide exemplary management and leadership of teams and individuals.

    • Review plans and other technical documents, answer questions regarding the scope and/or timing of the project, monitor costs and project progress.
    • Conduct Pre-Hand-Off Meeting (prior to commencement of the project) & Post-Hand-Off Meeting (post completion of the project) with the Estimator and operations team ensuring clarity of the scope and expectations, as well as establishing lessons learned.
    • Ability to understand contract language and execute project successfully to remain in contract scope.
    • Responsible for planning, administering, and completing assigned projects, which may cross several functional areas, such as facilities, operations, or administration.
    • Ability to manage assignments which may vary in length, complexity and are multi-phased. Project size ranges from one-day job to 6-month project and may manage 3-8 projects to include bidding, planning, close-out and spectrum phases.
    • Responsible for supervision of staff by providing work direction to individuals that are supporting a project as well as project related time management (Hours) verification/approval.
    • Communicate directly with client/contractors/designers/subcontractors utilizing a Request for Information/Quote/Proposal (RF/Q/PI) process concerning project cost, scope of work, staffing, scheduling, and change orders.
    • Collaborates with various teams to execute the project management plan; revises & documents plan via a structured change order process as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
    • Prepare project status reports and works to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications.
    • Responsible for all job site management activities of our crews and subcontractors.
    • Work closely with Estimating team in all phases of the project and safety professional in coordinating safety training, accident and injury investigations, equipment, or property damage incidents investigations.
    • Must be able to work onsite and travel to client’s job site, while directing all activities on the project.
    • Work with cross-functional team members to develop detailed project schedule including milestones, deliverables, and dependencies based on business objectives, budget, scope, timeline, and risks.
    • Facilitate weekly meetings to provide an update on project progress and resolve issues while communicating with team members, stakeholders, and executives.
    • Maintain project files in SharePoint to ensure project continuity and historic documentation.
    • Consistently demonstrates professional conduct as a representative of MEI and adheres to the corporate mission, vision, and values.

    Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education)

    • Ability to estimate and manage millwright and/or piping is a plus but not required.
    • Requires a high school degree or GED equivalent. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in project management, construction management preferred.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.
    • Five (5) plus years proven machinery moving, construction, project management or construction safety experience is preferable.
    • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, procedures, and risks.
    • Relies on extensive experience/ judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, supervisory and project management skills.
    • Experience estimating and managing rigging and/or machine moving projects described (4 years)
    • Experience with job costing, general construction accounting and financial responsibility of projects.
    • Project Scheduling – able to use scheduling platforms such as MS Project for large projects
    • Proficient in reading, understanding, and managing basic bid data and construction documents including drawings, technical specifications and contract documents; P&ID’s & ISO’s a plus
    • Highly self-directed and motivated and works effectively on a team or independently.
    • Suitable knowledge including machine assembly, erection, layout, leveling and alignments.
    • Must be able to work along aside field technician in assembly and erecting of machine tools.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving and time management skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.
    • Ability to negotiate effectively with peers around priority and design.
    • Ability to effectively recognize and resolve conflict in early stages.
    • Ability to regularly participate and contribute to department and team meetings.
    • Proficient skills with the MS office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook); some CAD, Blue Beam Revu, SketchUp or similar
    • Demonstrated knowledge of SharePoint.
