    Job Description:

    The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair of various equipment (panel benders, presses, CNC laser machines, pin spotters, shears, etc.), machines and building factors. It’s preferred that this position assist with developing and maintaining processes for preventive and predictive maintenance on all equipment at each of the 3 facilities located at McDaniel Metals, LLC.

    Main Shift: 2nd shift (2:30 pm – 10:30 PM) this position floats with Operations and it is not a fixed scheduled as you will be working with a team of maintenance employees who periodically rotate in their schedule.

    McDaniel Metals, LLC specializes in fabricating aftermarket HVAC components using sheet metal and a variety of equipment such as CNC Lasers, Panel Benders, Automated Coil lines, CNC Press Brakes, Spot Welders, etc. We maintain a combined manufacturing facility of 160,846 sq. ft.; featuring 3 facilities.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    We are looking for a technician with a minimum of 3 years industrial maintenance experience. This candidate must be efficient in the following:

    · Must wear personal protective equipment and follow all safety guidelines such as and not limited to LOTO (LOCK OUT TAG OUT)

    · Communicate with the various departments to maintain a productive and satisfying work environment;

    · Work independently under limited supervision (self-management)

    · Documentation of work schedule and work tasks completed

    · Performs mechanical and electrical problem solving and assists with all aspects of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting

    · Perform daily ongoing preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and record in CMMS Program

    · Responds to emergency work orders/calls in a timely manner;

    · Inspect equipment and notify management of any hazards or defects;

    · Maintain building repair needs: facility plumbing, lighting, sheet rock repair etc.

    · Read blueprints and mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical schematics;

    · Install, disassemble, troubleshoot, and maintain all manners of mechanical and electrical components

    · Use computer systems to perform diagnostics on electronic components and PLC system;

    · Uses appropriate tools, such as multi meter, ampere meter, hand and power tools, etc.

    Specific REQUIREMENTS:

    The Maintenance Technician will be required to possess the following:

    · High School Diploma or Equivalent

    · Must be able to work in varying temperatures and climates (outdoors/warehouse)

    · Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed

    · Working at heights of 10 feet or greater, operating lifting devices, and entering confined spaces

    · Must be able to sufficiently read, write, and speak English due to the safety sensitivity of this role.

    · At least six (6) years of relevant electrical and mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment

    · PLC proficient

    · Must have the physical ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs

    · Must be reliable and have great attention to detail

    · Must have CLEAN valid Class C driver’s license and be able to travel to various property sites on a regular basis. (Transportation provided by McDaniel Metals)

    · Ability to follow electrical code manuals to install and repair electrical systems

    · Experience reading technical drawings, mechanical, electrical & pneumatic schematics and product manuals

    · Ability to effectively diagnose machine electrical and mechanical system malfunctions and concisely detail root cause(s) of malfunctions

    · Must be able to use analog and digital multimeters

    · Experience with basic electrical systems (e.g., VFD, starters, fuses, contacts, relays)

    Abilities Desired but Not Required:

    · Associates degree in relevant field

    · Welding/Cutting Torch

    · Forklift experience

    · Rigging - Coil Lift/Hoist Crane

    · Pipe threading

    · Running EMT conduit

    Overall Expectation:

    The Maintenance Technician is expected to use all preventative measures to ensure the upkeep of various machinery and inspect finished projects for quality assurance while maintaining a clean and safe working environment for all employees.

    Position Overview

    McDaniel Metals is seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined entry level Field Support Associate to support our Engineering and Manufacturing teams. This position serves as a bridge between Engineering, Production, and Field Operations by assisting with field measurements, production documentation, order preparation, material coordination, and manufacturing support.

    The ideal candidate enjoys working in both an office and manufacturing environment, is willing to learn HVAC curb adapter measurements, and is comfortable stepping into the field when needed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow into engineering support or field operations within the HVAC manufacturing industry.


    Key Responsibilities


    Engineering & Production Support

    Assist Engineering with preparing production documentation and job packets.Pull and organize production orders, drawings, and related documentation.Verify information for accuracy before production release.Support Engineering with measurement validation and production coordination.Assist with maintaining organized engineering files and documentation.

    Field Support

    Train to perform rooftop field measurements for HVAC curb adapters.Serve as a backup to the Field Measurer when required.Document field measurements using photographs, sketches, and measurement tools.Communicate field information accurately to Engineering and Production.

    Manufacturing Support

    Assist with material handling and movement of production materials as needed.Support fabrication and welding operations when required.Assist with identifying production issues and communicating them to Engineering.Work closely with Manufacturing to ensure orders move efficiently through production.

    Cross-Functional Support

    Serve as a backup for designated shop support functions when needed.Coordinate between Engineering, Production, and Operations to support workflow.Assist with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.


    Qualifications


    Required

    High school diploma or GED.Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn HVAC manufacturing processes.Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, data entry).Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to read a tape measure accurately.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Preferred

    Welding or metal fabrication experience.HVAC, sheet metal, construction, or manufacturing experience.Experience reading mechanical drawings or blueprints.Forklift experience is a plus.Experience working with hand and power tools.

    Physical Requirements

    Lift up to 50 pounds.Stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.Work in both office and manufacturing environments.Ability to climb ladders and safely access rooftops when performing field measurements.Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions when required.
