Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Summary: The Technical Trainer will lead the development and maintenance of all training materials in a firm knowledge management system related to the firm’s usage of hardware and technology. Work closely with all departments to determine training needs and hold training, scheduled or ad hoc, as needed. Participate in new initiatives throughout the firm and build a training curriculum for rollout. Provide general technical help desk support for all employees and monitor those requests to indicate training gaps within the firm.Responsibilities:Create, organize, manage, and maintain the firm’s training materials (Training manuals, FAQ, quick reference documents, videos, etc.…)Consistently provide scheduled training each month on various topics.Provide ad hoc training for employees (in person or remote)On-board training of all new employees on firm technology, policies and proceduresDocument firm department procedures and create departmental playbooksWork closely with departments to determine training needs and build a curriculum as neededEvaluate existing public training materials for relevance and applicabilityCreate in-house training materials when neededParticipate in new initiatives and develop training materials to support the new initiatives.Learn all software/hardware offerings of the firm in order to provide consistent training to employeesCommunicate with the IT Manager on feedback or issues from training sessions.Provide general IT support and other responsibilities as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities: Must have excellent presenting and communication (both verbal and written) skills to train employees on complex technology concepts effectively.Ability to relay complex technical information in various ways to an audience with varying levels of technical understandingDisplayed the management of multiple projects concurrently and maintained a high level of organization.Must be self-motivated with a focus on quality-oriented results.Ability to write technical documentation (FAQ, training manuals, process documentation)A solid foundation of technology in general with an emphasis on MS Office suite and law firm-specific technologies.Ability to learn and understand new software to provide trainingAbility to work with vendors to incorporate existing training materials into the firm’s curriculumDependable member of the IT department with interpersonal skills to work with each department within the firm.Education and Experience:Associate degree or equivalent in a technology-related fieldTwo or more years of experience (law firm experience preferred) in providing technical training.Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift to 15 pounds at timesWork in the office three days a weekMcAndrews is an equal-opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Perform maintenance and support for on-premise Windows servers while providing advance tier level support for all employees.
