Role Summary:
A qualified candidate is responsible for communicating effectively with clients, prospect clients and staff in order to provide timely and accurate information regarding Matrix Sciences services, testing results, test requirements and shipping. Role summary:
This position is a full-time, hourly position. The Data Entry Technician performs all paperwork, technical and non-technical procedures required to receive, process and submit samples for laboratory testing. The Data Entry Technician will also forward accessioned samples to designated laboratory locations while locating and correcting any discrepancies.
What you’ll do:
Receives samples when delivered to the laboratory in Mount Prospect, IL. Removes samples from transport bags, verifies proper identifiers on all ARF’s and samples. Identifies any discrepancies or omissions on the paperwork or sample, collects the data or contacts the ordering party according to laboratory procedure. Assigns specific computer-generated identification numbers to samples, checks for accuracy and records all items processed. Prepare samples for delivery to designated laboratory locations. Assists with sample storage and retrieval. Maintains a clean and organized work area. This includes disinfecting the workstation, restocking supplies, breaking down boxes and trash removal. Reads, understands and follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), including safety and quality procedures. Participates in improving lab efficiency, quality and cooperation. May include cross training to perform basic Laboratory Assistant or clerical duties. May also be responsible for various support activities, including but not limited to data entry, answering phones, shipping and receiving, equipment assembly inventory and other related duties.What you have:
High school diploma. Background in Biological Sciences preferred. Information technology literacy with working knowledge on Microsoft Office Suite and LIMS system a plus. Role Summary:
Performs routine microbiological testing of food and environmental samples for under aseptic conditions for qualitative and quantitative parameters, focusing on sample preparation and plating responsibilities.
What you'll do:
Perform sample set up, dilutions and plating activities on food and environmental samples following aseptic techniques and standard operating procedures.Perform equipment monitoring and verification on basic laboratory items such as balances, fridges, incubators, pipettes, etc.Identify, communicate and document non-conformities related to daily activities.Support routine laboratory operations through tasks such as sample archiving, media preparation, cleaning and waste disposal.Ensure accurate and complete traceability and documentation of testing activities performed.Ensure samples are processed efficiently to meet client expectations for turnaround time.Support assigned staff with investigations and implementation of corrective actions performing activities as directed.Identify and assist with implementation of process improvementsFor responsibilities within area of responsibility, provide training for other laboratory staff.Adhere to lab safety procedures and reporting standards.Follow written Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.Other duties may be assigned to assist with the operations of the lab.General ResponsibilitiesSupports and complies with all Company policies, Quality Systems and Health & Safety programsKeeps work area clean, neat and organizedMaintains training records and relevant qualificationsProvides general lab supportCompetencies

Minimum Associates Degree in Sciences or at least two (2) years working in a commercial lab environment. Demonstrated ability to work with a team.
