    FPGA DESIGN / FIRMWARE ENGINEER

    Matrix is looking to hire an outstanding team member that shares our passion for providing exceptional technical solutions to our customers.


    HOW WILL THIS POSITION CONTRIBUTE?

    Mission: Perform digital design and write firmware for scalable digital RF-front and back-end systems that will help us fulfill our mission of developing, integrating, and transitioning advanced multi-sensor military capabilities.

    How: By using industry best practices and being part of a team that: refines system requirements, creates a system-level design, and then creates, tests, and fields various military systems.


    WHAT SKILLS ARE NEEDED?

    Required: Ability to write VHDL (required) and Verilog (desirable) code in support of design and development of digital signal processing systems.Proficiency in all aspects of FPGA design and verification, familiarity with FPGA timing and resource optimization, familiarity with Vivado/ISE, Plan Ahead, Quartus, and Modelsim.Ability to develop architectures from high level requirements documents as well as the ability to document and present these to our customers.Demonstrate good verbal and written communications skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.Successful applicants will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree, with 5+ years experience with BSEE, or 2+ years with MSEE.Applicants must be US citizens capable of obtaining and maintaining a US DoD security clearance.
    Desired or Will Train: An understanding of the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code review, source control, build, test, deploy, and operationsExcellent programming skills, with experience in C and/or C++ software development for applications such as embedded microcontroller programming and/or Linux drivers.Basic knowledge of signal processing algorithms for radar or image processing applications.

    We are currently seeking a Radar Signal Processing Engineer for our Dayton, Ohio location. This position requires an applicant be well versed in radar signal processing with strong computer programming skills.

    HOW WILL THIS POSITION CONTRIBUTE?

    Mission: Develop, model, simulate and analyze advanced radar capabilities and demonstrate these capabilities on fieldable systemsHow: By using industry best practices and contributing to a team working to expand the state of the art in modern radar technologies

    WHAT SKILLS ARE NEEDED?

    Required:

    Expertise with a history of demonstrated proficiency in the following technical areas:Algorithm development and analysisCommon radar modes and data processing techniquesProgramming in Matlab and/or C++Modelling and simulation of radar or other radio frequency systemsStatistical and probability analysisHighly developed writing and verbal skills for the purpose of generating high quality technical reports and presentations.Familiarity with the software development environment, including compilers, source control, coding standards, and code reviews.Minimum of five years' experienceApplicants must be US citizens capable of obtaining and maintaining a US DoD security clearance.

    Desired:

    Familiarity with RF electronic protection and electronic attack techniquesTen years or more experienceFamiliarity with Linux or other Unix based operating systemsAn active security clearance
