Job DescriptionJob Description
The Cabinet Finisher is responsible for preparing, staining, painting, and finishing wood cabinetry and components to meet quality standards. This role ensures all products have a consistent, high-quality appearance and are completed efficiently to meet production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Sand, prep, and clean wood surfaces for finishingApply stains, paints, sealers, and topcoats (lacquer, varnish, polyurethane, etc.)Match colors and finishes to customer specifications or samplesInspect finished products for defects and ensure quality standards are metMaintain finishing equipment (spray guns, booths, sanding tools)Mix and prepare finishing materials according to specificationsFollow proper drying and curing timesRepair or touch up finishes as neededKeep work area clean and organizedFollow all safety procedures, especially regarding chemicals and ventilation
Qualifications
Experience in wood finishing, cabinet finishing, or similar role preferredKnowledge of different finishing techniques and materialsAbility to operate spray equipment and sanding toolsStrong attention to detail and qualityAbility to read work orders and follow instructionsGood hand-eye coordinationAbility to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods
Preferred Skills
Experience with HVLP spray systemsColor matching experienceKnowledge of wood species and how they take stainFamiliarity with production shop environments
