Job Summary The Water Foreman leads the crew to complete daily tasks related to the installation and repair of water pipelines in a safe and correct manner. The position oversees crew safety and productivity, installing and pressure testing both mainline and service line water pipe, as well as completing routine safety inspections and documentation. This position oversees the Line team and works with customers, senior management, and personnel from other departments. Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate crew work to install water pipelines via open-cut or directional drill methods. Obtain all necessary licenses, permits, and materials for each job. Oversee, accomplish, and ensure all work quality related to each project and assume full responsibility for its standard and timeliness. Coordinate and delegate daily tasks to crew members related to digging and placing product. Gain entry to site buildings for work crew and call in utilities located at each project site. Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections to ensure the crews work safely. Complete all paperwork in a timely manner. Train new hires and trainees to learn the trade. Track employee hours and submit for payroll on a timely basis. Call in utilities located at each project site. Inspect existing utilities are properly identified and exposed, to ensure piping is correctly installed and fused, job meets customer specifications, and it meets company quality standards. Drive, haul, and/or operate equipment to/from job sites to assist crews in completion of work. Keep the job(s) moving on time, clean up, and perform job restoration at the end of job. Communicate with customers and inspectors. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned. Qualifications Minimum High school diploma, or equivalent. 3 years of experience with water pipeline construction or maintenance. 2 years of supervisory experience. Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). OSHA 10 Certification. Preferred 5 or more years of water pipeline construction or maintenance experience. Pipe fusion certification. DOT Operator Qualification. DOT Flagger certification. OSHA 20 certification. Physical Demands and Work Environment This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
