  • Job DescriptionJob DescriptionNOTE: To be considered for this position you must apply online at https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/mdotmd/jobs/4919182/structures-inspection-program-manager-transportation-design-engineer-vi Nature of Work:  The Structures Inspection Program Manager manages the condition inspections of all MDTA highway and bridge facilities including the large and complex structures. The incumbent oversees the full-time supervision of the inspections for condition, engineering evaluation of any defects found, and performs field and office audits. This position will also prioritize any necessary repairs, review repair recommendations, and transmit directly to the appropriate division, program, or project, for review and inclusion in construction contracts or task orders. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Manages facility inspection programs utilizing in-house and consultant resources;Develops scope of project, task initiation, consultant management, and oversight;Manages a staff of professional engineers specializing in different disciplines of engineering inspections such as structural, highway, mechanical, electrical, and traffic safety;Develops and reviews repair procedures; Manages and implements repairs to defects found during inspections;Oversees the design of complex repairs, tracks all repair items, audits the repairs, and closes out defects once repairs are completed;Manages the quality assurance and quality control of the inspections; andPerforms structural analyses of existing bridges and other structures to determine their load carrying capacity. The employee in this position will report directly to the Structures Discipline Manager. The current vacancy is located in Baltimore County, MD. Hybrid telework schedules may be available for this position.

    Possession of a Maryland Professional Engineer license, in the appropriate option, is required. Evidence of license must be presented at the time of appointment.
     
    Experience:  Two years of experience managing engineering projects as a licensed, professional engineer. **Five years of experience in a relevant field (i.e. NBIS Bridge Inspection, Complex Bridge Inspection, Tunnel Inspection, Underwater Inspection, Structural Engineering, Civil/Highway engineering, etc.) Two years of the five years of experience must include managing structural inspection teams, managing a bridge structural design team or managing large or complex transportation structures projects. **This statement contains a SELECTIVE QUALIFICATION, which is more focused in scope than the Minimum Qualifications for this classification.  Selective Qualifications are utilized when the position requires specific or additional bona fide occupational qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities).  No substitutions are allowed for a Selective Qualification. Consideration for employment may be based solely on the contents of your application; therefore, it is essential that you provide complete and accurate information. The position plans and manages remedial projects/tasks to align with MDTA’s strategic goals and to comply with local, state, and federal standards and regulatory requirements. The position requires a strong knowledge of hydraulics, hydrology, erosion and sediment controls, stormwater management practices, standards and regulations associated with drainage and stormwater. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Inventory, inspect, assess and monitor stormwater assets, including investigation of concerns/complaints and asset failures and development of engineering solutions; Prepare plans, reports, specifications, and construction documents;Supervise consultant engineering professionals, technicians and administrative staff and manage consultant tasks; Coordinate with MDTA’s Geographic Information System (GIS), Engineering, Operations and Construction teams; andSupport the compliance program related to stormwater requirements for National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permits and Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDL) Chesapeake Bay restoration goal and other state or local permits. The employee in this position will report directly to the Environmental Discipline Manager. The current vacancy is in Baltimore, MD. Hybrid telework schedules may be available for this position.

    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionNature of Work:  The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for ensuring the organization’s overall financial health and stability that allows for the delivery of major transportation infrastructure that are key to Maryland’s economy and its residents’ and visitors’ quality of life. This C-Suite position is the authority on financial matters and internal controls. This position mitigates risks and collaborates with MDTA Board Members, the Executive Director and other Chief Officers on the agency’s strategic goals, priorities, and mission.
