    SUMMARY
    The Environmental Technician position is responsible for providing the field work necessary to collect data for report preparation by the Asbestos/Lead Administrative Assistant.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Responsible for conducting field operations including but not limited to sample gathering, data collection, job specific condition evaluations, and on-site project management.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required.     This job requires attention to detail, ability to work independently or within a small group, and a working knowledge of PC applications. (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word,). The individual must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel. The individual must be physically capable of climbing ladders, crawling in tight quarters, carrying moderate weight equipment, and be able to pass a pulmonary function test for required PPE (respirator with HEPA filter).

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
    The individual must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent. This position requires that the individual be capable of qualifying for the LDEQ certifications in the disciplines asbestos and lead. These certifications may include but are not limited to asbestos supervisor, asbestos inspector and lead inspector.

    Martin Transport, Inc. is seeking a hands on Sales and Operations Manager with transportation supervisory experience to lead and grow our Reserve, LA Terminal.

    The ideal candidate will display strong character and integrity and will be responsible for all safety, sales, and operational aspects of the terminal in accordance with company guidelines.

    This position requires a multitasking leader who is able to analyze and direct the changing dynamics of a 24/7 transportation terminal. The ideal candidate must be familiar with DOT compliance and maintenance and a minimum of 5 years of transportation experience supervising Class -A CDL drivers. Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred. A proven record of trucking and leadership experience is required.

    The terminal manager is responsible for all activities and all employees at his/her facility. The terminal manager is responsible for ensuring the operation is economically sound and safe and maintain the company image of honesty and integrity.

    Conduct document verification and entry into the transportation management system software, maintain office files on all equipment and drivers, OSHA reporting, safety documentation.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
    Assist in distribution of driver paperwork once completed by dispatch
    Ensure all paperwork from drivers for loads are checked for accuracy, entered, and scanned into the MTI ERP system
    Checking driver logs to verify times and accuracy for verification of paperwork
    Maintain equipment files for all DOT auditable equipment at the local terminal in accordance with MTI document retention policy

    Answer phones and direct calls as needed

    REQUIREMENTS

    Strong problem solving, analytical reasoning, and technical judgment, including the ability to review laboratory data and recognize results requiring investigation or escalation.Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate records while managing multiple technical and administrative deadlines.Good verbal and written communication skills, including preparation of reports, business correspondence, customer documentation, and technical summaries.Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, exercise sound judgment, handle confidential information appropriately, and support both laboratory and administrative functions.

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; ability to learn laboratory, data-management, and document-management systems.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    B.S. degree related to Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, Engineering, Construction Materials, or a closely related technical field is preferred. Equivalent experience in asphalt binder testing, laboratory blending, quality documentation, materials testing, technical administration, or laboratory support may be considered. Two or more years of experience in a laboratory, quality, materials, or technical administrative role is preferred.
