    Job Summary

    Compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions; maintains drug inventory and stock control systems under the direct supervision of pharmacists to ensure clinical and administrative effectiveness. Assists pharmacists in compounding, preparing and dispensing medical prescriptions to the public after receiving information from clients, customers or patients according to written/faxed prescriptions. Uses computers to enter, access or retrieve data; establishes and maintains patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients and all new prescription and/or refill requests. Maintains proper storage and security conditions for drugs; controls inventory stock level and timeline to ensure adequate supplies. Coordinates departmental quality assurance and other client-focused services with supervisory staff; creates and maintains a safe working environment and conditions that adhere to state laws and regulations.

    In addition to the responsibilities of the pharmacy technician, the Senior Pharmacy Technician receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments. Exercises latitude in determining objectives, approaches, auditing and maintenance of additional assignments. Projects and work often require problem resolution, generation of new solutions, and frequently looking beyond the immediate problem. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure that results and objectives have been met. Modifies existing tools, techniques and processes with approval from leadership. Supports the development, implementation and maintenance of new processes or techniques. Serves as a resource for leadership and staff, as well as a mentor to others. Leads in resolution of day-to-day challenges. Assists with compliance of accepted standards and laws pertaining to the practice of pharmacy. Ensures policies and procedures are followed.

    Qualifications

    High School graduate or general education diploma (GED) required. Associate's degree preferred.

    Requires two years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, including leading providing work guidance to others.

    Must maintain annual registration as a Pharmacy Technician through the State Board of Pharmacy in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state privileges as required by position. Must also complete the required hours of Pharmacy Technician continuing education.

    Iowa: Effective July 1, 2010, all pharmacy technicians working in Iowa pharmacies must be nationally certified by an accredited technician certification board. Currently accredited boards are the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). An individual enrolled in a technician training course or program, or an individual who has not previously worked as a pharmacy technician and who accepts technician employment in an Iowa pharmacy, must register as a pharmacy technician trainee within 30 days of starting technician training or employment. A technician trainee must become a nationally certified pharmacy technician within 12 months of starting technician employment or training. A pharmacy technician trainee who does not complete national pharmacy technician certification before expiration of the pharmacy technician trainee registration, must discontinue working as a pharmacy technician.

    Minnesota: Must have active/current pharmacy technician registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy and the completion of a formal technician training program. Must obtain Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) prior to hire.

    North Dakota: Technician certification: Must maintain active licensure in North Dakota. The North Dakota Board of Pharmacy does not require employers to collect or submit ongoing documentation of national certification renewal. Technicians are responsible for ensuring their state registration remains current and in good standing.

    South Dakota: Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the SD Board of Pharmacy required within 30 days from the date of hire. As of September 12, 2024, the state of South Dakota requires technician certification in the following roles: A Technician Providing immunizations, a Technician working in a Remote Pharmacy, other advanced functions as approved per the Board.

    Job Summary

    A pharmacy intern is a student who works in a pharmacy to gain hands-on experience.     Job Summary

    Performs echocardiography tests/procedures in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography standards. Prepares patients for exams by explaining procedures, transferring patients to the ultrasound table, applying gel, and positioning patients properly. Operates the ultrasound equipment to produce and record images of the motion, shape, and composition of blood, organs, tissues, or bodily masses, such as fluid accumulations. Performs the echocardiogram and oral and/or written preliminary summary of technical findings to interpreting physician for use in medical diagnosis.

    Thoroughly understands the operation of the ultrasound machine and utilizes new sonographic technologies when needed. Performs routine cardiac ultrasound procedures in a clinic, hospital, and mobile sites depending on location. Interacts professionally and effectively with fellow health care professionals. Assists in the submission and /or maintenance of Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) accreditation when necessary.

    Supervises or trains students and cardiac sonographers as needed. Adheres to safety and infection control policies established by Sanford. Adheres to established internal standards and procedures abstracted from Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPPA).

    Additionally, based on the facility, some Sanford markets/facility sites may expand job responsibilities to include ultrasonography.

    Qualifications

    When working or hired in South Dakota: Graduate from an accredited two-year Cardiac Ultrasound Program required.

    When working or hired in North Dakota: Graduate from an accredited school of cardiac sonography program or one year work experience in cardiac sonography preferred. On the job training may be considered with appropriate leadership approval and must have an allied health certificate/diploma in an imaging modality to be considered for on the job training.

    When working in Minnesota: Graduate from an accredited two-year Cardiac Ultrasound Program OR a bachelor's degree and one year equivalent work experience required.

    When working in all other states: Minimum of one year equivalent work experience or an allied health certificate/diploma required.

    When working or hired in South Dakota: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible is required within 12 months into the position. Leadership may require this to be obtained in less than 12 months depending on needs of the department. Department needs may shorten this time frame if applicable.

    When working in all other states: Credentialed with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible is required within 18 months of hire. Leadership may extend this time depending on department needs.

    If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board is required.

    For employees who provide outreach mobile services, maintenance of a valid driver's license and good driving record is required. This may include passenger on flights and occasional overnight stays at assigned sites.     Job Summary

    Performs diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scan images. Produces quality computed tomography exam images and exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Work Shift: Day and PM shifts and also weekend rotation, typically every 5 weeks.

    Provides for patient care and initiates life support measure as necessary. Interacts effectively with patients, physicians, family members, department staff, and healthcare workers.

    Possesses the skills and knowledge to operate CT equipment to produce quality CT scans as well as the ability to perform related procedures and protocols. Possesses the ability to professionally obtain information from patients or their responsible parties to further improve their personalized treatment and care.

    On a continuum, the CT Technologist works to develop an understanding of the patient's physical and emotional status. Works well with all age groups.

    Sanford Rural Network Facilities sites may expand job responsibilities based on the needs of the facility, to include, but not limited to: on-call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays. Perform diagnostic radiology procedures. Perform basic diagnostic radiology tasks and aware of general radiology protocols. May perform mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures.

    Qualifications

    Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school or Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT) accredited program is required.

    Computerized Tomography (CT) training or experience preferred.

    American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification is required at the time of hire.

    Per Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE) and American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation requirements, CT certification obtained within two years is preferred.

    If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board is required.

    Job Summary

    Administers speech and language evaluations, tests or examinations to diagnose and plan treatments for clients/patients/residents with various speech problems and swallowing disorders.     Job Summary

    Responsible for performing ultrasounds in a professional and diagnostic manner. Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images. Thoroughly understand the operation of the ultrasound machine and utilize new technologies. Performs a variety of ultrasound examinations.     Possesses an understanding of cross-sectional anatomy. Conducts self professionally at all times, even during moments of high stress.

    Assists when necessary with the maintenance of accreditation requirements and processes. Understands age-related protocols for various testing. Coordinate work with physicians or other healthcare team members, including providing assistance during invasive procedures when applicable.

    Supervises and train students and medical sonographers as needed. Reports and calls in-service requests on equipment when needed.

    Additionally, based on the facility, some Sanford markets/facility sites may expand job responsibilities to include echocardiography.

    Qualifications

    Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Imaging, Allied Health Certificate/Diploma or a minimum of one year

    equivalent work experience is preferred.

    Registration in at least one of the following areas of sonography is required: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or registry eligible.

    Registry preferred within two years after hiring.

    If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board is required.

    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.

    For employees who provide outreach mobile services, maintenance of a valid driver's license and good driving record is required. This may include passenger on flights and occasional overnight stays at assigned sites.     Job Summary

    The scope of work for a respiratory therapist includes assessment, therapeutic intervention and education for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders and/or sleep disorders or associated complications.     Qualifications

    A degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited respiratory care program is required; minimum associate degree or equivalent as defined by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

    Respiratory Therapists must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all procedures, indications, contraindications and hazards involved in respiratory care, as well as knowledge of equipment utilized in their department. Demonstrates the ability and knowledge required to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for quality care. Must complete orientations, competency validations, and other in-servicing as required by the department and hospital.

    Must have current Respiratory Therapy licensure in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position.

    Must have Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials as attained through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and maintain active status according to NBRC credentialing requirements.
