Introduction
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Equipment Coordinator/Dispatcher to join our operations team. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient coordination of freight movement, supporting drivers, and maintaining optimal use of equipment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, exercises sound judgment, and can make real-time decisions with minimal supervision. We are looking for someone to work in either our Cleveland or Columbus Ohio locations.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate on-time pick-up and delivery of freight to meet customer and operational requirementsMonitor and manage equipment inventory to ensure maximum utilization and efficiencyTrace loads and shipments to provide accurate, up-to-date status informationManage freight volume and adjust dispatch plans based on changing conditionsDetermine when, where, how, and what is required to successfully move each loadMake real-time decisions to address delays, equipment shortages, or routing challengesActively support truck drivers by providing guidance, updates, and problem-solving assistanceMaintain clear communication with drivers, customers, and internal teamsEnsure compliance with company policies and operational standards
Qualifications
Proven ability to make independent decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentStrong organizational and multitasking skillsExcellent communication and problem-solving abilitiesExperience in dispatching, logistics, transportation, or a related field preferredAbility to monitor multiple moving parts while maintaining attention to detailComfortable working with minimal direct supervisionProficiency with dispatching or logistics software is a plus
