    Project Team Manager - - (capital equipment projects)


    Job Summary

    Mark Andy is looking for a results-driven Project Team Manager (PTM) to lead the execution of complex, custom capital equipment projects from pre-sale engagement through installation and customer startup. This role plays a key part in ensuring project success by coordinating across departments, managing customer expectations, and driving accountability throughout the project lifecycle.

    Each PTM partners with a dedicated Project Engineer and collaborates closely with Application Engineering, Custom Design Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, and Field Service. A strong engineering background, particularly in capital equipment, is essential for success in this role. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.     Key Responsibilities:

    Lead the execution of capital equipment projects from sales handoff through installation and customer production startup.Ensure accuracy and completeness of all project phases, including press build, system testing, installation, training, and internal support through service handoffCollaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Custom Design teams to review order specifications and ensure alignment on performance requirements, including third-party equipment integration.Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules with clear milestones, responsibilities, and documentation.Drive consistent internal and external communication to set and manage expectations, provide status updates, and document key decisions.Facilitate regular cross-functional project meetings to monitor progress, manage risks, and drive accountability.Guide and oversee the design approach in coordination with engineering, ensuring technical feasibility and customer requirements are met.Define and support in-plant validation and press acceptance testing aligned with the project scope and timeline.Ensure timely resolution and closure of all internal and customer-facing action items.Travel to customer sites as needed for project reviews, milestone updates, and support during key phases of installation and acceptance.


    Required Skills and Abilities:

    Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and interface with customers at all levels.Proven ability to manage multiple, complex technical projects concurrently.Skilled at setting expectations, tracking milestones, and driving accountability across internal and external stakeholders.Solid organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive follow-up on open itemsAbility to understand and translate technical engineering concepts into customer-facing communication.Comfortable leading meetings, documenting decisions, and communicating risks or changes to project scope or schedule.Self-directed and solutions-oriented, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

    Education and Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial, manufacturing or a related technical field.Minimum of 6 years of experience managing technical projects or programs, preferably in capital equipment, manufacturing, or industrial machinery.Background in printing, converting, or automated equipment industries is a strong plus.PMP certification is preferred but not required.


    Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

    Exposure to shop and manufacturing environments with required PPEOccasional lifting (up to 50 lbs) and regular movement throughout office and production areasSome customer site visits may involve similar physical demands.

    Job Summary

    The Technical Writer/Technical Content Manager is responsible for developing Mark Andy technical manuals and supporting product communication. This role researches and develops content, creates illustrations through CAD or photographic means, and edits input from engineers into final publication form.

    This position will also leverage AI-driven tools to enhance the management of content, development of technical manuals, sales materials, and service support documentation, improving efficiency, consistency, and overall content quality.

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Creates and maintains illustrations from Pro/ENGINEER models, AutoCAD drawings, digital photography, scanned images, or other sources for use in Mark Andy publications. Recommends and/or implements new methods to leverage AI and other tools to improve Content Management.Researches, writes, and maintains press operation and service manuals for all Mark Andy products; collaborates closely with engineering and cross-functional teams to understand requirements. Performs editorial duties including content accuracy, grammar, and style consistency in all technical publications. Coordinates publication and translation of manuals as required. Develops comprehensive documentation that meets organizational and customer standards. Leverages AI-assisted tools to develop, enhance, and maintain technical manuals, sales collateral, and service support documentation. Reviews, validates, and refines AI-generated content to ensure technical accuracy, clarity, and compliance with engineering and brand standards. Continuously evaluates opportunities to improve documentation processes through AI and digital tools. Other duties as assigned.

    SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills. Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex technical subject matter. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Familiarity with or willingness to learn AI-driven content creation tools. Ability to effectively guide (prompt), evaluate, and refine AI-generated output


    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor’s degree in communications, engineering, or a related technical field preferred. Experience writing documentation and procedural manuals for diverse audiences. Two or more years of experience as an effective technical writer. Experience collaborating with engineering teams to improve user experience, refine content, and create supporting visuals.     Perform independently:

    Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair machinery and equipment. CNC machining centers, mills, lathes, grinders, Etc. Install, maintain, and repair electrical & mechanical apparatus, servo systems, transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipmentTroubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment and systems throughout facility.     DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Build crates for domestic or foreign shipment; cuts lumber and plywood to various lengths and sizes to accommodate product.Electrically and mechanically disconnects and disassembles in-line presses into appropriate shipping sizes using hand tools, power tools, etc.Moves presses to the crating department using air float pads, forklift, pallet jack, etc.Crates customer orders and press parts to ship to correct destination.Inspects customer orders visually for damage prior to crating.Provides dimensions on customer orders and presses to the Shipping Coordinator.Attaches appropriate labels or stencils containing such information as shipping destination, weight, safety, handling, and type of product contained in crate.
