JOB DESCRIPTION
As an Assistant Project Engineer (APE) makes sure the project team meets certain specifications when working on a job. Given the need to be engaged, they will usually split their time between the office and in the field to monitor information such as blueprints, estimations, materials and sometimes personnel for a specific job. PEs collaborate with their team in the field by monitoring, providing guidance, solving problems, and documenting progress at the job site.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Support PM in monitoring RFI and Submittal progress in Procore
· Conduct construction site walkthroughs and work with contractors to schedule job site deliveries
· Support PM resolving drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interference, and errors
· Support PM in conducting onsite observations of construction work performed in the field to identify and seek solutions to project problems and communicate to PM to reduce downtime
· Monitor inventory levels to determine the need for stock procurement and replacement
· Update procurement log
· Support estimator in completing quantity takeoffs
· Coordinate and oversee the procurement of material resources required for a project
· Provides up-to-date input on all project quantities and units
· Support PM in working with Project Accountant to Track and monitor all cost reports. (AR/AP, Job cost percentage and production reports)
· Job setup in Procore after Accounting project initiation to include contact lists, plan upload, insurance, W9, specification upload, third party work authorization, etc.
· Coordinate and ensure smooth operation of multiple projects from start to finish
REQUIRED SKILLS
· Understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within construction field
· Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, and specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to discipline
· Ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects
· Excellent written and oral communications and team skills
· Ability to perform work tasks with minimal direction and work independently with an interest in quickly learning and applying new skills and abilities
· Computer Equipment and Software: Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, P6, blueprint reading, and Bluebeam
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Construction Management or related field is required
· Candidates with demonstrated internships in a similar field are preferred
SALARY AND BENEFITS
· Reporting to the Project Manager, this is a full-time, in-house position. Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. LOCATION: Oakland, CA
· Salary range is $65,000 - $80,000 – commensurate with experience
· Full benefits package including PTO, Health, Vision and Dental insurance, and all federal holidays

We seek an experienced and motivated Senior Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic team . As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and managing construction projects for our firm.
Your responsibilities will include developing and managing project budgets, creating detailed schedules and overseeing resource allocation to ensure optimal execution. You will conduct regular site inspections, review construction plans and specifications, identify potential risks, implement proactive measures to mitigate them and verify that all the work is performed to the highest quality standards.

Objectives of this role
Planning, coordinating and managing all phases of construction projects, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closeout.Establishing project objectives, scope and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and ensuring alignment with client requirements.Developing and managing project schedules, budgets and resource allocations to ensure cost efficiency and timely delivery.Liaising with architects, engineers, contractors and subcontractors to monitor construction progress, resolve issues and ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.Managing procurement processes, including bid evaluations, contract negotiations and vendor selection.Oversee project budgeting and cost control and manage change orders to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.Conducting regular site inspections to assess project progress, identify risks, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.Maintain effective communication with project team members and stakeholders to provide project updates, address concerns and foster strong working relationships.Required skills

A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, OR RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE.4+ years of relevant experience in construction project management in healthcare sector managing HCAI and OSHPOD work, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes and safety regulationsExcellent project management skills, including effective planning, organizing and prioritizing tasks.Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, including project blueprints and construction schematics.Strong leadership and communication skills to manage project teams and stakeholders.Proficiency in construction management software, project scheduling tools and cost estimation software (PROCORE, BUILDING CONNECTED)Preferred skills and qualifications
Relevant professional certification in Project Management OR Construction Management, like Project Management Professional (PMP) or LEED certification.Knowledge of risk management and budget management principles.Experience in managing large-scale construction projects in Healthcare sector.Strong financial understanding and experience in project budgeting and cost control.SALARY AND BENEFITS
