    Be the go-to mechanic for complex crane issues in our shop. Under the direction of the Service Manager, you’ll perform inspections, fault isolation, repairs, and preventive maintenance on mobile cranes and boom trucks to keep customers operating safely and efficiently.

    Core ResponsibilitiesOperate and inspect cranes to identify defects and performance issues.Diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical systems on mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes.Examine components for wear using micrometers and gauges.Interpret and apply OEM operating manuals, parts catalogs, blueprints, and technical drawings.Test mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic systems post-repair to verify compliance with OEM specifications.Stage jobs effectively by validating parts and drawings.Execute detailed annual inspections and document results.Accurately complete working reports, hour reports, time sheets, hours overviews, and expense reports.Deliver excellent customer service while working independently with minimal supervision.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED; minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Crane Mechanic/Technician preferred.Preferred experience with Grove RT & TMS, Grove GMK European Cranes, Manitowoc EPIC and/or Traditional Cranes, and National Boom Trucks.Proficiency in reading electrical and hydraulic schematics.Strong communicator with a customer-first approach.Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record preferred.Basic computer skills preferred.Personal tool set required: full set of hand tools up to 1.5 inches.Safety ExpectationsWork safely at all times and wear the required PPE.Comply with all site and job-specific safety procedures.Engage in safety training and demonstrate competency.Report hazards and unsafe behaviors or correct them when possible.Schedule, Physical Demands, and EnvironmentFull-time, typically 7:00 am to 4:00 pm; overtime and weekends may be required based on workload.Work around extreme temperatures, various weather conditions, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, strong odors, and loud noise.Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.Frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.Vision requirements: close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust focus.WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Job DescriptionJob Description

    MGX Shop Crane Technicians are responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes and boom trucks. This position reports to the Service Manager.

    Candidates hired for this role will receive a $4,500 sign-on bonus, payable after 90 days continuous service; and be eligible for our Tool Reimbursement Program of up to $1,500 per calendar year. Relocation assistance may also be available to those who qualify.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Operate and perform thorough inspection of cranes in order to diagnose defects.Diagnose, repair and troubleshoot various mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes; repair hydraulic and electrical components.Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges. Reads, understands and interprets operating and parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings.Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications.Prepares for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections.Properly fills out working reports, hours reports, time sheets, hours overviews and expense reports.Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision.Provides excellent customer service.Other duties as assigned.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Crane Mechanic/Technician preferred.

    Experience working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically Grove RT & TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc EPIC and/or Traditional Cranes; National Boom Trucks preferred.

    Must be able to read both electrical and hydraulic schematics.

    Must have excellent communication skills with a customer/client focus.

    Possession of a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record preferred.

    Basic computer skills preferred.

    Required to purchase full set of hand tools up to 1.5 inches.

    Know and follow established job specific and facility wide safety and health procedures and rules.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    This is a full-time position with typical working hours between 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions.
