    Position: Mental Health Counselor

    Department: Counseling Services

    Campus: North Manchester, IN

    Target Hire Date: November 2025

    Manchester University is seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Counselor to join our Counseling Services team. This full-time, 10-month position provides individual, couples, and group counseling for students, as well as crisis intervention and outreach programming. The counselor plays a vital role in supporting student well-being, resilience, and success at the North Manchester campus. This position offers generous paid time off, summers off, tuition remission, and a supportive campus community that values balance, professional growth, and meaningful work.


    What You'll Do:

    Provide individual, couples, and group counseling to students.Assess student needs and deliver appropriate interventions, including referrals to community providers when necessary.Collaborate with faculty, staff, and student support systems to identify at-risk students.Participate in weekly intervention team meetings and early alert system follow-up.Lead trainings, workshops, and prevention efforts on mental health and wellness topics.Maintain accurate, confidential clinical documentation.Contribute to outreach, marketing of services, and program evaluation.


    What You'll Need:

    Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work required.Licensed mental health professional in Indiana (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT); provisional licensure accepted with ability to achieve full licensure within 1 year.Minimum 2 years of counseling experience with adolescents or young adults.Strong clinical skills, including experience with high-risk populations and a wide range of presenting concerns.Commitment to culturally sensitive, inclusive care for diverse student populations.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.


    Work Schedule: This position is typically Monday - Friday, with a 40-hour per week requirement with flexibility to meet departmental needs.

This faculty member will play a vital role in advancing our mission to prepare innovative physical therapists who optimize human movement and function across the lifespan.

    What You'll Do:

    Teach and develop didactic and/or clinical courses within the DPT curriculum.

    Contribute to curriculum design, assessment, and program development.

    Mentor and advise students, fostering a culture of success.

    Engage in scholarly activities, including research and dissemination of findings.

    Provide service through faculty governance, professional organizations, and community engagement.

    Maintain professional effectiveness through clinical practice and continuing education.


    What You'll Need:

    Earned Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree; a PhD, EdD, DSc, or equivalent is preferred.

    Eligibility for Indiana physical therapy licensure.

    3 years of clinical experience preferred.

    Teaching experience in a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program preferred.

    Evidence of scholarly activity and a commitment to research strongly preferred.

    Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
