Mid-sized Law Firm seeks an experienced Human Resources Specialist to support the Department with a wide range of HR functions such as hiring and interviewing staff, administering benefits, and leave, and enforcing Firm policies and practices. The HR Specialist provides administrative support as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified candidates; partner with department managers to identify staffing needs and required competencies.
· Conduct background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
· Coordinate and deliver new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
· Administer employee benefits, including 401(k) plans, leave programs, and enrollment processes.
· Coordinate and track 90-day and annual performance evaluations.
· Support employee relations activities, disciplinary actions, investigations, and performance management processes.
· Process employee terminations and coordinate offboarding activities, including exit interviews and required documentation.
· Maintain employee records and HRIS data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
· Track and document required training, including safety, anti-harassment, onboarding, professional licensure, and other compliance-related programs.
· Respond to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
· Stay current on HR trends, employment law updates, and best practices.
Qualifications/Job Requirements:
· Proficiency with computers and ability to learn new systems and programs quickly.
· Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines while working in a fast paced and frequently changing environment
· Professionalism and attention to detail are imperative
· Minimum of 10 years of HR experience
· Reliable and dependable
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and Word
· Experience in the Mortgage Industry and/or a Law Firm is preferred.
College Degree and HR Certification is preferred. Following a reasonable onboarding and training period, this position will transition to a hybrid schedule, with an expectation of 2–3 days per week in the office. Pay range is generally $31 - $35 an hour based on experience. Please note that employment requires a background check prior to initial start date.

Qualifications/Job Requirements:
· Minimum of 3-5 years of civil litigation paralegal experience including drafting and e-filing
· Familiarity with county nuances while filing and requesting hearings
· Proficiency with computers and ability to learn new systems and programs quickly
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and Word, and Adobe
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Professional email etiquette, a customer service focus, and attention to detail are imperative
· Reliable, dependable and mastery of the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines while working in a fast paced and frequently changing environment
· Experience in the mortgage industry is a plus
· Legal calendaring and Notary experience is a plus
Some college, paralegal certificate or equivalent work experience is required. Ongoing training and development are provided. Pay range starts at $28 – 33/hr and is based on experience. This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule, based on performance and Firm approval. The Initial Training Period of approximately 30 days will require regular days required in-office, Monday – Friday.
