We are seeking a Caregiver And/or Home Health Aide Med Certified to become a part of our team! You will provide routine care to Residents at Malachi House.
We are hiring for Full-time Dayshift and Nighshift Caregivers. Our staff work 3 (12.50 hour) shifts a week including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
Recognize, accept and follow the mission of Malachi House.Understand and accept the role of the Hospice nurse in directing care of residents.Follow directions of Hospice nurse to meet needs of residents.Communicate changes in condition and concerns of residents to Hospice Nurse in appropriate and timely fashion.Direct and assist Caregiver Assistants in maintaining safety and welfare of residents and of Malachi House.Make certain all resident care and housekeeping duties are completed by change of shift.Recognize the central role of volunteers in the operation of Malachi House; work with and direct volunteers as needed.follow OSHA standard for Universal Precautions, Board and House policies as set forth in Employee Handbook and in Policies and Procedures Manuals.Understand and follow all Malachi House policies, with special attention to the medication policy.Complete Caregiver documentation as outlined in the Procedure Handbook.Attend and participate at staff and resident review meetings.Maintain confidentiality in regard to residents’ diagnoses and personal histories.Train new Caregivers with the assistance of Clinical Director and Clinical Assistant.Perform Caregiving Assistant job duties when needed.Qualifications:
Ability to work with terminally ill persons in a caring and sensitive manner. Prior experience with such persons is preferable.Able and willing to work flexible hours based on the needs of residents.Good communication skills.Ability to interact appropriately with diverse groups of people and direct them as needed.Ability to follow directions and give instructions to others as appropriate.Must have experience in administering medications and/or certificate in Medicine AdministrationCompany DescriptionCreated out of a Christian sense of ministry, Malachi House is dedicated to providing compassionate end-of-life care at no cost to terminally ill individuals who need an available caregiver and have limited financial resources.
