    The Blasting Technical Representative provides field blasting support to the Company’s operations, including the ongoing development and presentation of all blaster training programs and public relations/education activities. Specifically evaluates and facilitates the application of blasting techniques and products.

    What you will be doing:

    Evaluates and facilitates the application of blasting techniques and products.Provides inter-company technical reports on blasting applications, procedures, and results.Provides hands-on assistance in the planning and development of blasting projects as needed.Assists in the development and presentation of blasting plans and procedures as well as the development of blasting specific best practices guidelines for the Company and its operating standards.Assists with project reviews to reduce cost, ongoing blasting product testing, and the investigation of blasting incidents and related issues.Supports the Company in business development initiatives, technical support communications to employees, and the development and support of Company Safety Policies.Participates with Blaster Training Committee as well as Blaster and Blaster Training Programs.Participates in monthly Foreman, periodic safety and job meetings as needed.Attends daily heads-up safety meetings.Performs out of town and state travel to worksites as necessary.Performs all other duties as assigned.Demonstrates a commitment to the “Safety First” mantra throughout the company.Provides oversight and direction in a supportive role during the technical training process.

    In order to be successful in this role, here’s what we will need from you:

    Excellent attention to detail and task orientation.Ability to adapt to changing priorities with a high capacity for flexibility.Strong team orientation with the ability to work well with others.Possesses a valid state driver’s license with access to reliable transportation as well as an acceptable driver’s record as defined by the Company’s insurance carrier.Ability to pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug/alcohol test.Must successfully pass criminal background check for ATF.Ability to perform prolonged periods of standing, walking, and reaching, as well as lifting, pushing, and pulling. Preforms stooping and bending 30 to 40% of the time.Must be able to lift 50 to 100lbs., 30 to 40% of the time.Must be able to tolerate exposure to excess noise under strenuous working conditions.Ability to perform work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather conditions.

    About You

    You are highly experienced in the drilling and blasting industry, with at least five years of experience working with drills and explosives, as well as at least two years in a technical-focused position. You hold a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, and you will also bring experience in Blasting Technical Training with the ability to obtain valid Blasting Certificates. You are highly knowledgeable in various Federal and State regulations pertaining to the use and handling of commercial explosives, in addition to a broad knowledge of commercial explosives and commercial explosives applications.

    LABORER-CONSTRUCTION

    Ability to perform job specific instruction provided by Superintendents, Blasting Supervisor or Drill Operators. Individuals must be safety-minded and able to work well in varying weather environments. Out of town travel and overtime may be required.

    Responsibilities:

    Adhere to Company Safety procedures and policies

    Submit the following records to Blaster/Foreman on a Weekly basis: Accurate and Signed Time CardAbility to quickly learn safety aspects of working construction sites and working around explosivesAbility to take direction and perform construction laboring activitiesAbility to work unsupervised occasionallyPump blast holes dry with water pumpLoad and unload explosives from truckCarry buckets of stemming stone to stem blast holesMaintain clean and organize job siteParticipate in monthly Foreman, periodic safety and job meetings as neededParticipate in daily heads up safety meetingsOther duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Valid Drivers License with good driving record and own transportationMust be able to pass a pre-employment physical & drug screen. Must successfully pass criminal background check for ATFExperience with construction laborer helpful, but not necessaryAbility to learn and develop skills to later perform higher level tasks

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to perform essential functions of the positionPosition requires proficiency to work at a steady pace on uneven and loose surfaces outsideAbility to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally, 5% of timeAbility to lift 50lbs, 50% of the timeStooping and bending 60 – 70% of the time

    Pay: 18$-20$ per hour plus $150/week vehicle/travel allowance.

    BLASTER TRAINEE-CONSTRUCTION

    Will assist the Blaster with the coordination of daily drilling and blasting activity. This position is considered an “on the job” trainee or “apprentice” with respect to learning blasting and job site supervision.

    Responsibilities

    Assists the Blaster in charge with coordinating daily drilling & blasting activitiesTrains to be proficient in all areas of blasting techniquesDevelops a solid understanding of proper explosives product use and various applicationsAssists the Blaster with maintaining the daily blasting production scheduleAssists the Blaster with site securityUnderstands and follows company safety policies and procedures and performs work in a safe manner

    Attends company meetings as required

    Participates in daily heads-up meetingsAssists Blaster with setting up seismographs and works towards proficiency with useAssists Blaster with drill pattern layout and setup and reviews this with the drill operatorAssists Blaster with monitoring the relationship between blast pattern and type of diggingAssists Blaster with accounting for explosives and drill supply usage and inventoryMay transport explosives across state linesMay complete trip manifest, shot reports, cost sheets and related paperwork as requiredAll other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    High School DegreeTwo years' experience working with drills and explosives, or prior military explosive handling experienceDemonstrates basic blasting problem solving skillsAble to travel out of town as neededAbility to obtain blasting licenses

    Physical Requirements

    LICENSED BLASTER-

    Performs blasting activity in accordance with job program to achieve anticipated production. This position supports the direction of the Blasting Supervisor and Project Superintendent. Reports blasting results and status to Project Superintendent or Blasting Supervisor for input and direction.

    Responsibilities:

    Performs assigned blasting activities.Works as a job site blaster and receives direction from Blasting Supervisor and/or Project Superintendent Provides input on blast-related activities to aid direct supervisor in plansIdentifies blast site problems and resolves with Blasting Supervisor or Project Superintendent, if necessaryVerifies that pre-blast inspections have been conducted prior to blastingPerforms all necessary pre-blast tests and seismograph setup as neededUnderstands and follows all Company safety policies and practicesPlaces supply and material requests through Blasting Supervisor or Project Superintendent as neededMonitors the relationship between blast pattern and type of digging and reports results to Blasting Supervisor or Project SuperintendentDocuments use of explosives and completes required inventory paperworkExpected to transport explosives across state lines, as neededIs responsible for completing field accounting reports and required trip manifest forms as neededAll other duties as assignedAttends company meetings as requiredParticipates in daily heads up safety meetings

    Qualifications

    High School Degree

    Minimum of two years experience working with drills and explosives

    Must have completed Blaster I training and will be required to take Blaster II training

    Possess a Valid Blasting Certificate in states that require this

    Must have good communications skills

    Must hold a valid CDL with hazmat endorsement and is a Company-qualified driver (able to transport explosives across state lines) and has a good driving record as defined by the Company insurance carrier

    Out of town/state travel

    Must successfully pass a criminal background check with ATF

    Has a thorough understanding of blasting techniques: blast design, loading holes, select and operate electric and non-electric detonators, demonstrate grade & elevation readings, secure blast site, identify explosives, demonstrate pop shooting

    Proficient in all areas of drill operations

    Physical Requirements

    About the Opportunity

    We are searching for a Safety Professional responsible for the local market. In this role you will be responsible for on-site compliance with regulatory agencies; to include: MSHA; OSHA; BATF; DOT; DEP; local state & town regulatory agencies. Fostering a safety culture while ensuring that the divisions and operations comply with applicable regulations and company standards.

    What you will be doing:

    Conduct safety observations at jobsites, magazines, & shops to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards (MSHA; OSHA; DOT; BATF; DEP; state & local regulatory agencies); document non-compliant conditions; responsible persons and actions required.Distribute safety observation reports to responsible division or operation; work as a team to correct conditions found.Correct non-compliant conditions at time of observation when able.Collaborate and assist with incident investigations, facilitate WC claim submission, and assist employees in utilizing a return-to-work program.Maintain consistent communication with their Regional Safety Manager/Supervisor to establish priorities and ensure that the strategic safety goals of the companies are achieved.Demonstrate a strong safety focus; belief that the safety and health of all employees is not just about compliance, but about ensuring that everyone makes it home safely every day. Communicate the message of the Company Safety Vision and Values.

    In order to be successful in this role, here is what we will need from you:

    Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and establish mutual trust quickly. Ability to ask thoughtful questions and take a collaborative approach to problem solving.Proven understanding of safety principles, regulations, and best practices. Has knowledge to identify general safety hazards and ensure that all team members are aligned.

    About You

    You are an experienced Safety Professional. An Associates degree or higher is preferred, but not required. Your experience within the construction industry is highly valued. You have a strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, record keeping, and injury management skills.
