    Responsibilities

    About You

    Qualifications

    Equipment operating experience is helpful (earth moving construction equipment, farm equipment, timber harvesting equipment, etc.)
    Valid Driver's License with own transportation
    Experience as construction laborer
    Must hold a high level of common sense relative to equipment and machinery operation
    Mechanical aptitude based on past experience around equipment, motors, hydraulic, electrical systems, desired
    Must successfully pass ATF screenings

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to perform essential functions of the position
    Ability to lift 50 – 100 lbs., 30 – 40% of the time
    Work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather conditions
    Stooping and bending 30-40% of the time
    Physical agility

    About The Opportunity

    Pay Rate: DOE, plus company vehicle with gas card.

    We are experiencing explosive growth and looking to add hard working, motivated and skilled individuals to our highly dedicated teams within our large and growing geographic footprint. As a qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will use your mechanic knowledge and hands-on expertise to repair and maintain drill equipment, hoe-rams, skids steers, and various other equipment, both in a garage environment and at various job sites in the surrounding region.

    That means that you will be expected to:

    Replace and repair broken equipment;
    Perform PM on equipment;
    Trouble shoot mechanical equipment and systems such as motors, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components;
    Follow all Company safety policies and procedures;
    Perform field services and repairs on various equipment;
    Coordinate with Equipment Manager on needed parts & supplies necessary to repair and rebuild items;
    Use and operate all hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner;
    View safety as paramount and pro-actively identify safety hazards;
    Complete accurate required maintenance documents and records;
    Participate in Equipment Manager meetings as needed;
    Other duties as assigned.

    In order to join our team, here’s what we will need from you:

    Must have own hand tools up to 1 5/8 or be willing to invest in tools as needed;
    Must have good driving record;
    Must be able to obtain DOT Medical Card;
    Ability to pass ATF screenings;
    Ability to perform all essential functions of the position;
    Physical ability to lift 50 - 100 lbs., 30 - 40% of the time, with stooping and bending 30 - 40% of the time
    Physical ability to work outside on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather environments.

    About You

    This is a mid- level mechanic position, and as such you are most likely a high school or technical school graduate that is preferably ASE certified in automotive or heavy equipment maintenance. You will also bring at least 3-5 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience to go along with it. You are a self-starter and have the ability to work with limited supervision. You possess core skills, such as mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics, diesel motors, welding, electrical systems, and PLC skills. You may also be recently separated from Military service and looking for an opportunity that will value your self-discipline and standards for safety and excellence. But honestly, this is not the only blueprint for success at MD&B. If you answered YES to these questions, then we want to meet you! Must be able to perform job specific instruction provided by Superintendents, Blasting Supervisor or Drill Operators. Individuals must be safety-minded and able to work well outdoors in varying weather environments. Out of town/state travel and overtime may be required.

    Responsibilities:

    Must adhere to Company Safety procedures and policiesPhysical agilitySubmit the following records to Blaster/Foreman on a Weekly basis: Accurate and Signed Time CardAbility to quickly learn safety aspects of working construction sites and working around explosivesAbility to take direction and perform construction laboring activitiesAbility to work unsupervised occasionallyPump blast holes dry with water pumpLoad and unload explosives from truckCarry buckets of stemming stone to stem blast holesMaintain clean and organize job siteOther duties as assignedAttend all meetingsParticipate in monthly Foreman, periodic safety and job meetings as neededParticipate in daily heads up safety meetings
