Front Desk Agent - Municipal Grand hotel

    Management Company: Midnight Auteur

    Sector: Luxury Independent Hotel

Property Description: 44-rooms, a restaurant, two bars a pool and delicious cocktails from the founders of Death & Co and The Ramble Hotel

Reports to: Director of Rooms + Front Desk Supervisor

    About Midnight Auteur

Midnight Auteur was born from the successful partnership between The Ramble Hotel in Denver and Death & Co, which began almost six years ago when the storied bar opened its second location in the lobby of The Ramble Hotel. With a shared intention among founders to build and operate hotels that immerse guests fully and seamlessly between social spaces and retreat – offering a setting fit for both celebration and sanctuary – our new hospitality company was created. The cocktail anchored experience at The Ramble Hotel, one in which the lobby is interchangeable with the bar, resulted in numerous accolades and awards, including Esquire’s Best Bars in America in 2019, North America’s 50 Best Bars in 2022 and noted by Condé Nast Traveler as ‘the hotel for people who are sick of other hotels.’

As a company we hold a deep, and slightly obsessive, reverence for the all-day lobby bar, which is really the foundation of Midnight Auteur. We love the idea of immersing our team and our guests in a vibrant, celebratory experience that only a hotel lobby bar can appropriately capture. The community created and hospitality shared over a coffee or cocktail is something we’re passionate about, while remaining equally committed to providing a luxury respite for our hotel guests.

Altogether, the Midnight Auteur team is passionate about actively evolving hotel, cocktail and culinary culture, being a progressive and forward-thinking operator, and making a positive impact on its communities. We look forward to hearing from you!

    Cheers!

    Our Purpose

We create meaningful experiences and connect people through modern classic hotels, anchored by vibrant bars and restaurants.

    Our Niche

We operate luxury, independent hotels. We aim to attract guests (and employees) who appreciate great design, food and drink – hosted within a vibrant environment, rich with local culture and accompanied by warm hospitality.

    The Role

The Front Desk Agent is the face of the hotel and plays a pivotal role in creating exceptional guest experiences. This position is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient operations at the front desk, including check-ins, check-outs, and responding to guest inquiries with professionalism, warmth, and enthusiasm.

As a key member of the Rooms Department, the Front Desk Agent is expected to exemplify Midnight Auteur core values by delivering personalized and authentic guest service. This role requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to anticipate and exceed guest expectations.

The Front Desk Agent actively participates in daily operations, ensuring that all guests feel welcomed and cared for throughout their stay.

    What You Will Do

Serve as the first point of contact for guests, delivering warm, professional, and personalized service during check-in, check-out, and throughout their stay.

Assist the Front Desk Supervisor and Director of Rooms in maintaining smooth daily operations and upholding service standards.

Respond to guest inquiries and concerns promptly, using creativity and problem-solving skills to ensure guest satisfaction.

Anticipate guest needs and take initiative to enhance the guest experience with thoughtful and personalized touches.

Manage room assignments, reservations, and payment processing with accuracy and efficiency.

Collaborate with other departments, such as Housekeeping and Engineering, to ensure guest requests and needs are met seamlessly.

Stay knowledgeable about the hotel’s offerings, services, and local area to provide tailored recommendations to guests.

Maintain and uphold brand values by embodying the hotel’s core standards and promoting an inviting, guest-focused environment.

Monitor and address guest feedback, escalating concerns to the Front Desk Supervisor or Director of Rooms as needed.

Act as a brand ambassador, fostering positive relationships with guests and the local community.

Demonstrate the Core Values of Midnight Auteur:

Curiosity – We learn and improve through active observation.

A.B.K - We anticipate, prepare and execute with intention.

Communication – We remove barriers through purposeful communication.

Thoughtful – We engage with purpose and care.

Connection – We build relationships and host with intuition, empathy and transparency.

    Career Experiences

You have been a previous Front Desk Agent in an upper-upscale or luxury hotel for a minimum of three (3) years.

You have worked for a boutique-style hotel company or independent hotel group and may have led or participated in restaurant or hotel openings.

Bachelor’s degree: or related relevant years of experience is required.

Proficiency of the English language in reading, writing and verbal communication. Secondary language is great but not required.

    Technological literacy is a plus.

    Leadership Attributes

Leader of People: The Front Desk Agent title implies a certain standing and status, but this rank must be earned daily. Inspires and earns respect through actions, not through a job title – both with team members and guests.

A Strong Project Manager: Able to decisively prioritize, manage and execute a multitude of short-term tasks and long-term projects, daily and with speed. A good decision today is better than a perfect decision tomorrow.

Hospitable: Has a passion for hospitality (both inside and outside of the hotel) - which is the “the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers.”

Strong interpersonal skills: Able to develop rapport and find common ground with team members across all departments.
