Overview
We’re looking for a motivated Tax Associate to join our team. This role is perfect for someone early in their accounting career who’s ready to gain hands-on experience preparing returns, working with clients, and learning directly under an experienced Tax Manager. You’ll play a key role in helping clients get organized, understand their taxes, and build lasting relationships with our firm. Over time, you’ll have the chance to grow into more advanced responsibilities, including tax planning, review, and IRS representation work.
While prior experience in tax or accounting is preferred, what matters most is curiosity, accountability, and a strong desire to learn and grow. We’ll support your journey toward becoming an Enrolled Agent (EA) through paid materials, mentorship, and covering all exam fees.
Key Responsibilities
Communicate with clients to gather tax documents, clarify missing information, and ensure timely submission of required materials.Prepare Individual, Partnership, and S-Corporation tax returns with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.Utilize internal systems to track return progress and ensure timely completion.Assist with basic bookkeeping or client record reconciliation as needed.Conduct tax research and summarize findings for manager review.Develop expertise in IRS correspondence and notice resolution.Help maintain positive client relationships through timely communication and excellent service.Participate in continuing education, internal trainings, and study toward the Enrolled Agent (EA) credential.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).0-2 years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, or bookkeeping preferred.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable learning new software.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Interest in building a long-term career in tax and pursuing the EA designation.
