    Position Summary

    The Director of Workforce Development is responsible for the overall development and management of employment-related services. This includes, but not limited to, vocational education, soft skill training, career assistance and supportive services. The position works with external and internal stakeholders to execute on approaches to hard and soft skill development targeted to high barrier populations, that fill gaps in industries with a high potential for living wage job placements and career advancement. The Director will build upon the agency’s approach to creating viable social enterprises related to areas of training focus, to support operations. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Director ensures the alignment of the Workforce Development Department activities to the overall organizational strategic goals and mission

     

    Some of the duties include:

    ·         Develop, coordinate and implement vocational training programs that meet accreditation standards and that address the specific needs of high-barrier populations

    ·         Oversee operations of all training and social enterprise initiatives, and ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, licensing and accrediting bodies

    ·         Develop and implement department annual work plan

    ·         Establish and maintain key partnerships and collaborations with related service providers, government entities, and employers

    ·         Provide external monitoring and internal communication of workforce industry trends; Connect to markets or local and regional workforce channels

    ·         Lead in data driven program improvements

    ·         Develop annual budget, meet financial performance benchmarks, and adjust strategy when needed

    ·         Execute business plans for social enterprises including marketing strategies

    ·         Responsible for operating fund development in coordination with the Development & Communications Department

    ·         Work with the advisory committee for subject matter guidance and support

    ·         Provide reports to the LMM Board of Directors and its committees as directed

    ·         Proven ability to manage a budget of $1.7 million+ and meet annual revenue goals

    ·         Ensure maintenance of accreditation, certification and licensure standards for vocational training and workforce development activities

    ·         Manage contracts with external vendors and oversee compliance with contracts

     

    Qualifications

    Our ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline required; experience in vocational education, job training or employment services preferred. Proven track record of developing and implementing start up projects/businesses. Minimum three years of experience in a management level position.   A working knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of poverty and barriers faced by persons experiencing homelessness; unemployed/ underemployed; current or previous involvement in the criminal justice system; and with mental health or addiction histories. Valid Ohio Driver’s License and proof of insurance, required.

    Position Summary

    The Senior Vice President of Programming (SVP) is responsible for leading program development, alignment, execution and evaluation to achieve effective and efficient service delivery across all areas of service. The SVP collaborates with senior management to drive performance-based outcomes and transformative results guided by the agency’s strategic plan. Working with the President & CEO the position ensures stewardship of resources and facilitates growth, in alignment with LMM’s Mission, Vision and Values.

     

    Some of the duties include:

    ·         Lead the execution of LMM’s Strategic Plan Goals related to Empowering Services

    ·         Align service area efforts in support of the execution of other strategic goals

    ·         Strengthen service integration and cross-department collaboration

    ·         Implement strategies to meet the workforce and housing needs of persons experiencing homelessness, currently incarcerated or returning citizens, and others served by LMM

    ·         Strengthen LMM’s impact on persons served by promoting service excellence modeled after industry best practices

    ·         Stay informed on community needs, industry trends, policy changes, and innovations in service delivery

    ·         Implement financial management strategies to optimize resources and ensure fiscal sustainability

    ·         Evaluate program sustainability and make recommendations on expansion, right-sizing or phase out

    ·         Create business and operational plans to guide the launch of  new initiatives or pilot programs

    ·         Provide values-based leadership and collaboration

    ·         Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders

     

    Qualifications

    Our ideal candidate possesses a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred. The candidate should have at least seven years of demonstrated success in a senior management role, leading high performing teams and executing sound business judgement within nonprofit social service environments. A deep understanding of the dynamics of poverty and experience with providing services that address homelessness, reentry, mental health and aging is required. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, along with the ability to analyze financial and operational data and make informed and strategic decisions. A valid Ohio Driver’s License and proof of insurance are required.
