    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAbout Velazquez Pain

Velazquez Pain is a leading pain management group serving patients across Southern and Northern Nevada. Our team of physicians and advanced-practice providers delivers comprehensive, compassionate, evidence-based care to patients living with acute and chronic pain. We operate four clinics in the Las Vegas metro area and one clinic in Reno, and we are committed to supporting our providers with modern facilities, strong clinical staff, and a collaborative team culture.

    Position Summary

We are hiring a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our clinical team. In this role, you will evaluate and manage patients with chronic pain conditions, develop and adjust multimodal treatment plans, prescribe and monitor medications (including controlled substances in accordance with Nevada law and CDC guidance), and work closely with our supervising physicians and ancillary staff. This position is open to candidates interested in working out of any of our Las Vegas locations or our Reno location.

    Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive evaluations of new and established pain management patients, including history, physical exam, review of imaging, and medication reconciliation.

Prescribe and monitor medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with Nevada Revised Statutes, DEA regulations, CDC prescribing guidance, and clinic policies.

Review Nevada Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) data and coordinate care with primary care, behavioral health, and other specialists.

Document clearly and accurately in our electronic health record within expected timeframes.

Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, medication safety, and goals of care — in English and Spanish as needed.

Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and team meetings.

Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and all state and federal regulations.

    Required Qualifications

2–4 years of clinical experience as an NP or PA in an outpatient setting.

    BLS certification (current).

Strong working knowledge of responsible opioid prescribing, MME calculation, and risk-mitigation strategies (PMP review, UDS, treatment agreements, naloxone co-prescribing).

Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.

Prior experience in pain management, physical medicine & rehabilitation, neurology, or orthopedics.

Experience performing or assisting with trigger point injections, joint injections, or other minor procedures (or willingness to train).

    Experience with EHR platforms.

Familiarity with workers' compensation, personal injury, and Medicare/Medicaid pain management documentation requirements.

    What We Offer

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus production-based incentive compensation.
