Job Purpose: This position is responsible for the surveillance of the building and the safety of all personnel.
Patrols and monitors an assigned area; reports suspicious activities to local authorities.Monitors surveillance cameras, inspects property, and monitors crowds.Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.After business hours, checks doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure.Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property.Conducts inspection of personal belongings or packages due to reasonable suspicion at the guidance of HR, Plant Management or the Safety Director. Reasonably detains persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives.Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.Performs other related duties as assigned. Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.Authoritative verbal communication skills.Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.Security positions require you pass applicable drug screen and background check required by state regulationsEducation/Certification/etc required:
High school diploma or equivalent required.A minimum of 2 years' experience as an armed guard preferred. This position requires individuals to have or be able to obtain and maintain active guard and firearm permits or licenses on a current basis as required by state regulations.Must currently have and be able to maintain an active driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.First aid, CPR AED certifications (preferred)Physical Requirements
Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and monitoring surveillance equipment.Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time. Must be able to communicate effectively in person and by radio.PI8e6-
