The key functional responsibility of the Front Desk Coordinator is to manage the first impression of the practice for all patients and guests. As the coordinator for the front desk, this position is usually the first and last interaction a patient or guest has with the practice, displaying the brand value and reputation is of highest importance. The position ensures efficient patient flow within the practice and maintains a full appointment schedule.
As Front Desk Coordinator, this position is responsible for welcoming all new and existing patients and guests to the practice, managing the check-in and check-out processes of the practice for all patients.
The coordinator will familiarize themselves with the practice’s payment plan policies and communicate all options appropriately to patients at time of service and is responsible for maintaining the reception area in a way that is consistent with the practice’s Core Values.
Front Desk Job Responsibilities:
Greeting and checking in all patients and guests to the practice.
Directing calls, Answering patient questions and scheduling appointments.
Appointment confirmations.
Receiving all incoming mail, phone messages, and email.
Reports to lead on the status of appointment schedule, any patient challenges or complaints, likewise, maintains and documents all patient testimonials.
Verifying patient Insurance within the deadlines required by the practice.
Oversee the Weave messaging system.
Follow up on all fees due at the time of service.
Help to keep the Optometrist(s) on schedule and maintain efficient patient flow.

The role of the Optometric Technician is to provide technical support to patients, Optometrist(s) and Optician(s). This includes patient work-up, pretesting, tonometry, and performing the appropriate professional services to patients.
As the functional liaison between patient and Optometrist, the Technician is the primary person in charge of informing the OD of any and all imperative information before the patient is examined.
Because our mission is to improve people's lives through better vision and eye health, a deep working knowledge of all pretesting equipment is required. The ability to effectively communicate to patients and the optometrist(s) is of utmost importance.
Optometric Technician Job Responsibilities:

Stock and maintain all exam rooms with all necessary supplies
Perform I&R and contact lens instruction, answering patient questions regarding contact lenses.
Tracks and orders supply inventory (alcohol pads, eye drops, FI strips, etc.) as appropriate.

Job Responsibilities:
Assist patients with frame selection with an eye towards multiple pair sales
Measure and complete full ordering process for patients
Handle all minor repairs and frame adjustments
Place all eyewear orders and work with the lab for appropriate delivery
Communicate to patients delivery expectations according to the practices dispensing policies
Manage all warranty replacements for patients and product returns to vendors
