Pharmacy Technician
Job Summary
Prepares medications under the direction of a pharmacist and assists with related job duties.
General Accountabilities
Receives and verifies written prescriptions or refill requests for accuracy.
Mixes pharmaceutical preparations according to written prescriptions.
Maintains proper storage and ensures necessary security of drugs.
Establishes and maintains patient profiles.
Answers telephones to discuss or answer patient requests or questions.
Assists patients at the pharmacy by answering simple questions, locating items or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information.
Prices and then files prescriptions that have been filled.
Receives and stores incoming drug or other related pharmacy supplies.
Verifies invoices and physical quantities received of incoming items.
Monitors medications in the pharmaceutical inventory to keep in stock medications current and disposes of outdated medications.
Works with buyer or purchasing agent to keep medications in stock to acceptable levels.

Key Responsibilities
Accurately dispense prescription medications in accordance with state and federal regulationsProvide one-on-one patient counseling to improve medication adherence and outcomesAdminister immunizations (flu, COVID-19, shingles, and other vaccines)Deliver clinical services including Medication Therapy Management (MTM)Collaborate with physicians, urgent care providers, and other healthcare professionalsOversee pharmacy workflow including production, verification, and patient pick-upSupervise pharmacy technicians and interns to ensure safe and efficient operationsManage inventory, ordering, and cost-effective purchasing strategiesMaintain compliance with Ohio Board of Pharmacy and DEA regulationsSupport adherence packaging, free delivery services, and wellness programsParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and error prevention programsQualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degreeActive Pharmacist license in the state of OhioImmunization certification (or willingness to obtain)Strong clinical knowledge and attention to detailExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentPreferred Experience
